Andrew Neil says he "wouldn’t rush to apologise” to Meghan Markle amid allegations against her father.
“It doesn’t roll back everything she did in these appalling interviews, the Netflix documentary and so on.”

The ANDREW NEIL Report: Burnham's budget could tell us if we're heading for a snap election

What bit of this is misleading/inaccurate: ‘Not live you didn’t. Not on the France 24 English language version. I cut to it several times from other French news channels during her speech. They ran a doc about Africa.’
Stop trolling me.

You said they "ran reports about Africa rather than carrying her speech". That is at the very least wilfully misleading if not patent nonsense. I'm sorry you find my pestering a respectable journalist like yourself on questions of accuracy too trying.

I’ve never been a fan of @TheEconomist but this woman who is editor in chief is doing irreparable damage to the brand
JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon mocks The Economist during a tense exchange after being told he’s sounding like Trump: “I’m not Trumpian. I’m factual.” 🇺🇸
Interviewer: “You’re sounding Trumpy.”
Jamie Dimon: “I’m not Trumpian. I’m factual. I don’t agree with this binary shit that goes on all the time.
I think The Economist is the absolute best, most admirable thing in the world, and you should continue that.”
Dimon delivers the last line with apparent sarcasm, poking fun at the publication while pushing back against the idea that agreeing with Trump on certain issues makes him a Trump supporter.

🇫🇷 La candidate du #RN #MarineLePen a officiellement lancé sa campagne pour l’élection présidentielle française ce dimanche 25 octobre avec un meeting à #Orléans.
But not the government-owned @FRANCE24 which ran reports about Africa rather than carry Le Pen’s speech.
More from Le Pen: ‘We will restore our borders. In France, we live like French people. My protective vision will benefit everyone. We will restore the rule of law.’
‘Our only compass is France,’ she says. ‘We want a France that stands tall. We will respect the will of the citizens and return power to the people. We will reconcile the citizens with politics. We shall never relive 2005 again [referring to the weeks of riots in the banlieues that year under Chirac, who was forced to declare a state of emergency]. I want people to say tomorrow: "It is beautiful—it is French."

‘Long ago, things were good for France,’ she continues. ‘They will be better tomorrow. Let us restore France’s power, greatness and influence. We propose a new era. LFI [Mélenchon’s hard-left movement and the RN’s main rival] advocates chaos and violence.’
‘Our goal is to offer France a major political shift,’ Marine Le Pen tells the RN rally in Orleans. ‘France is in its current state because of its leaders. Over the course of 1,000 years, France has overcome everything. The recovery of France begins here. This wave will be navy blue.’
She speaks clearly buoyed by latest polls which show her favourite to be the next President of France.

The Government is borrowing to create a "Wealth Fund". The self-delusion is off the scale.
UK Treasury confirms extra £20bn over five years for the so-called National Wealth Fund (£15bn) and the state-owned British Business Bank (£5bn), which lends to business.
Treasury claims this will support around 100,000 jobs by 2035 in AI, defence and green energy — a figure it has pretty much plucked out of thin air and will never really be tested because by 2035 everyone will have forgotten such a modest announcement.
Two takeaways:
Yet more government borrowing. It’s an addiction.
Illustrates government philosophy: growth will come from a bigger, more activist state. Ho hum.
That’s not speculation. It’s analysis. Tho clearly not in the same league as your insights.

So much media speculation. Problem is, media trust is at its lowest. Only a General election will determine where a party truly stands.
