Ryan Kelly loved his time in Minnesota.
He loved his neighbors. He loved his teammates. He loved the way Kevin O’Connell and the Vikings’ org supported him.
This is a story about the toll concussions take, and why it’s so simultaneously hard to let go:

Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell said he did not know when LT Christian Darrisaw hurt his shoulder. Came in this morning and reported soreness. They’ll see how it goes throughout the week.
Vikings HC Kevin O'Connell said "I don't think we're there yet" on whether or not Kyler Murray's hamstring would affect his availability for Monday night against the Bills.
Vikings HC Kevin O'Connell says QB Kyler Murray has a sore hamstring. Going through full evaluation. LT Christian Darrisaw came in with shoulder soreness. S Theo Jackson has a quad injury.
Justin Jefferson has only one 100-yard receiving day in his last 18 games. Jordan Addison has only two 100-yard performances since 2024. They're on pace for a combined 106 receptions this season, fewer than Jefferson has had individually in three separate seasons.
They haven’t scored an offensive TD in the first quarter all season.
They rank at the bottom in almost every meaningful metric.
Sunday’s Lions loss furthered what’s been evident with the Vikings’ offense for some time. Something significant must change: nytimes.com/athletic/7746316…
The Vikings' offense has many issues, but the run game remains problematic.
The team talked about prioritizing it for the 4th straight offseason. Tons of changes over time: RBs, iOL, TE, OL coach, etc.
Right now, they rank 31st in rushing success rate and 27th in EPA/play.

I second this from Ben. That was an incredibly scary moment. You just hate, hate, hate seeing it. Puts all the mayhem into real perspective in split seconds.
Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell says CB Isaiah Rodgers had an ankle sprain. QB Kyler Murray had hamstring tightness but returned, per KOC.
FINAL // Lions 19, Vikings 15.
The offense was nowhere near good enough. It hasn't been for a long time. The defense did everything it could for three quarters. Lost TOP, found itself on the field for a long time. Tough loss. Lots of Qs to be asked.
Record is 6-1.
The Vikings punted their on their own 33. Going to have to get a stop, which means run defense is going to have to resurface.
Play resumed. Vikings went for it on 4th. Lions heated them up. Kyler tossed it up and incomplete. One of the worst offensive performance we've seen, which is saying a lot.
