Why does Kamino isolate its lending markets?
In a shared lending pool, one new listing changes the risk for every lender in the pool, because an issue with any single collateral asset can reach everyone's deposit.
On Kamino, each market is isolated, with its own collateral set, borrowing limits, price feeds and curator.
Today's new Backpack Market puts that into practice: @BackpackOnchain stock tokens list against USDC with borrowing limits of up to 40% set and monitored by @AllezLabs
New assets get rules built for how they behave, and as a lender on Kamino you only back the collateral in the market you choose
Some of the most popular stocks are now available as collateral on @Kamino via @Backpack Securities.
The RWA story of the year has been equities coming on chain and benefiting from the composability of DeFi - keep watching the space 👀
Allez Labs is onboarding @Backpack Securities tokenized equities, as collateral on @Kamino.
The Backpack Market pairs MU, SKHY, SPCX and SNDK collateral with USDC borrowing.
Introducing the Backpack Market on Kamino.
Kamino is expanding loans backed by tokenized equity on Solana with @Backpack Securities, bringing 1:1-backed, redeemable tokenized U.S.-listed equities directly into onchain credit markets.
Our due diligence covers token rights, issuer controls, equity volatility, oracle coverage and exit liquidity.
Eligible holders can also deposit supported tokens into their verified Backpack Exchange account and redeem them 1:1 for the corresponding underlying securities. Account and regional restrictions apply.

TRM Labs recorded 32 oracle manipulation exploits in the first eight months of this year, mostly by inflating a token's price on a thin DEX pool to borrow against it.
Kamino built Scope, its in-house oracle infrastructure, to protect markets and users from such exploits
It values AUTO at its redemption rate, with the DEX pool price used as a check
So price manipulation on a DEX can't move your collateral value or your LTV

The @AllezLabs USDC vault currently allocates more than half of its capital to OnRe Markets on @kamino, with nearly $6M supplied across variable and fixed-rate lending.
Reinsurance-backed collateral powering onchain credit markets.
Allez USDC, curated by @AllezLabs, has earned its depositors over $1.5M in interest since it opened on Kamino in April 2025
Borrowers across Kamino's markets pay that interest, against collateral from SOL and BTC to tokenised assets like ONyc and sUSDai
With the vault curator allocating for the best risk-adjusted yield
It goes into the price of every vault share, so each deposit grows as it comes in
Here’s how it works

As an actuary, the distinction I’d make here is between claims being paid and holders losing capital.
ONyc is not a stablecoin. It’s a NAV-based asset whose value moves with underwriting performance and collateral yield.
OnRe’s quoted yield already allows for expected claims through actuarial reserving. Premiums aren’t all treated as profit - there’s a reserve for the claims expected to come through, including losses that have occurred but haven’t been reported yet.
When a fully reserved claim is paid, cash falls but so does the liability already recognised. You don’t take the same loss twice.
The risk is that claims turn out worse than those estimates. That can reduce yield and, if sufficiently severe, principal. Reserving doesn’t eliminate underwriting risk, and leverage amplifies the consequences.
So I agree users need to understand what they’re not looping a stablecoin. But a 2% claim payout doesn’t imply a 2% ONyc NAV loss. The question is how much losses exceed what’s already been allowed for, and how much of that excess the remaining income can absorb.
