It is year 2035 and your worker humanoid robot is at your shop selling your goods. A groups of miscreants come and decapacitate the bot and make away with everything.
That's a no-good scenario.
Just install our Combat chip and the bot will be able to take on multiple opponents at a time, a single opponent is child's play.
Then we have our Security+ humanoid extension:
1. 360°, 100k fps high-res vision
2. Augmented IR, UV, Lidar, and Sonar vision
3. 10x telescopic and 50x microscopic zoom
4. Hyper olfaction sensors
5. Emotion and intent analyzer
6. Swarm coordination network
Now even armed humans are not match for them.
These are all science fiction—for now.
All AGI research and development will eventually converge on to the brain model. Yes, AGI will be powered by a literal digital brain.
The central sensory-motor processing architecture of humanoid robots will also be based on the same principle.
Humanoid robots that cannot fight are like sailors that cannot swim.
Very impressive progress being made by @UnitreeRobotics in the aspect of mobility and balance among all of humanoid makers. Prepare it well, we need a very capable body for Tatsu [龍] to descend upon.
Assuming AGI is equivalent to the computational capability of an average human being's brain, if it could be achieved using LLMs, the brain would be so simple, we would not be able to achieve it.
AGI will be achieved some day, it is not close yet, and it will not be LLMs.
Despite the most powerful processing units and super-processing infrastructures, AI will eventually plateau, and we will hit a point of diminishing returns.
There is a way to break through it.
GIVE IT EMOTIONS
That's the only way to take AI to the next level now.
Are you willing? Whoever does it will have an "unfair" level of advantage over those who don't. So it will be done anyway. Humanity will then cross a point of no-return into a completely new and unknown world.
The skeletal system of the human foot is one of the most amazing and robust designs in nature. It is a group of small and tiny bones that support the whole weight of an individual and enable them to walk, run, jump and perform various other motions.
Currently all humanoid robots are flat-footed, such a system is greatly limited in balance and agility.
Humanoid robot designers must come up the supremely challenging task of replicating the human foot design if they want to take their robots to the next level. In comparison, designing a human-like hand is easy, since there's negligible load on it. On the other hand, the feet have to carry the load of the whole body.
The day this is achieved, humanity would have crossed one of the most important milestones in the field of robotics.
