🌊 King tides are expected along California’s coast in the coming months, with the next event just days away on October 26. These exceptionally high tides, influenced by the moon’s gravitational pull, can increase coastal flooding risks. Combined with the potential impacts of El Niño, king tides could pose additional challenges for coastal communities. Cal OES urges Californians to stay away from flooded and hazardous coastal areas, monitor local advisories, and sign up for emergency alerts at Ready.ca.gov

🌊 A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect along California’s coast from October 25 to October 29, with Coastal Flood Warnings issued for the coasts of San Diego and Orange counties. Elevated tides, amplified by the El Niño pattern, could increase the impacts of flooding in low-lying coastal areas. ⚠️ If you live in or are visiting affected areas: - Stay out of the water and away from hazardous surf. - Never drive around barricades or through flooded roads. - Avoid flooded areas and water of unknown depth. Stay alert, monitor local advisories and take precautions to protect yourself and your property. Check the latest forecast and alerts at weather.gov.
