One year has passed since we lost Deputy Andrew Nunez, but the love, memories, and legacy he left behind remain as strong as ever. At a heartfelt candlelight vigil, Sheriff Shannon Dicus and his Executive Staff joined the Rancho Cucamonga Station and Andrew’s beloved family to honor his life and legacy. As candles illuminated the night, we remembered not only the deputy who dedicated his life to serving others, but also the loving husband, father, friend, and hero whose absence is felt every day.

We would like to thank Gary Mumaw of Rancho Cucamonga for sharing outstanding photos that highlight another unique San Bernardino County destination. ⛰️ The South Fork Trail offers hikers a chance to experience the beauty of the San Gorgonio Wilderness. The trailhead sits at approximately 6,900 feet along Jenks Lake Road, which is about 2.5 miles from Highway 38. Along the trail, hikers follow a gradually ascending path through the surrounding forest toward South Fork Meadows. From there, hikers can turn left toward Dry Lake, which sits at an elevation of approximately 9,000 feet. For detailed directions to Dry Lake through the South Fork Trail, please visit the San Bernardino National Forest’s website at bit.ly/47z2I81. #sanbernardinocounty #naturephotography #wilderness #southforktrail #hikingtrails
