Hedera (@hedera) moves mainnet to v0.78.2 on October 28, 17:00 to 17:40 UTC. The current release, v0.78.1, has been live since October 16.
This is a stability upgrade with more room for internal messaging. Nodes can handle larger internal messages for more complex operations.
Hedera's network is run by firms like Google, IBM, Deutsche Telekom, Tata Communications and McLaren Racing. This is its second mainnet upgrade this month.

Once interop goes live, users move assets between Unichain and other OP Stack chains with no bridge, ETH first.
Nothing else changes. Unichain stays a Stage 1 rollup with permissionless fault proofs. Optimism runs the production stack.

🟢 LATEST: Cardano ($ADA) has opened its Dijkstra testnet to the public. It runs on node 11.1.3 so far. Node 11.2 is next, then a hard fork moves it to protocol version 12.
Gravity ($G) ends bridge exits from Alpha Mainnet at 8 p.m. PDT today. Alpha shuts down November 1 as services move to its L1.
GMX ($GMX) starts buying back tokens with its Solana revenue on October 28. Bought GMX goes to the staking rewards pool.
Bitcoin Core ($BTC) will disclose easy-to-find bugs faster. Fixes ship for all supported versions with a public advisory.
Lighter ($LIT) has spent about $2.2 million buying back its own token on the open market. The DEX runs a buyback program.

BNB Chain (@BNBChain) activates the Jenner hard fork on BNB Smart Chain testnet on October 28. It reserves 5% of every block's gas for payment transactions, a share governance can raise to 10%.
Jenner also enables CAS20, a native asset standard with allowlists, pausing and mint and burn roles for stablecoins and tokenized real-world assets. Contracts gain millisecond timestamps.
Testnet comes first. BNB Chain will confirm the mainnet date separately.

⚠️ In 9 days, $NEAR holders will finish voting on a deep cut to new token issuance.
NEAR Protocol (@NEARProtocol) closes its House of Stake vote on HSP-029 on November 2, after 14 days. It lowers NEAR's maximum annual issuance from 2.5% to 1.6% over 24 months.
Proposal models show about 11.8 million NEAR of new supply avoided over two years, while staking rewards taper as the rate falls.
NEAR cut emissions from 5% to 2.5% in October 2025. Solana ratified a similar cut in August. Passage needs two thirds of voting stake and 35% turnout.

🔴 BIG: HSBC just launched RedCoin, its first stablecoin.
HSBC RedCoin ($RCHKD) is a Hong Kong dollar stablecoin that went live today on PayMe, the bank's payments app. Over the coming days, 3.3 million users can send stablecoins to friends and pay at more than 100,000 merchants.
HSBC holds one of the first stablecoin issuer licences from the Hong Kong regulator. A wallet inside the HSBC banking app and tokenised investments come later this year.
