I support this approach. Parents and students deserve to be heard, and elected trustees have an important role in ensuring their voices are represented. Holding public meetings in community spaces keeps that connection alive. Thank you to the trustees standing up for families across Toronto. thestar.com/news/gta/gone-ro…

A little Christmas magic came early to my constituency office on Friday! 🎄 I had a very special guest stop by to talk about a toy drive for Scarborough—Woburn. Stay tuned—there’s more to come! 🎁

Out on this beautiful Saturday morning with @JonBurnside_DVE, connecting with residents and community members. Great to see people from across the community coming together, sharing ideas and working toward a stronger, more connected neighbourhood!

For over 12 years, Chantal Soucy represented her community in the National Assembly of Québec — advancing local priorities like infrastructure, housing, and agriculture. We're thrilled to welcome her as our Liberal candidate for the upcoming by-election in Saint-Hyacinthe—Bagot—Acton.

Twelve years ago today, Corporal Nathan Cirillo was killed while standing sentry at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Several others were injured. Two days earlier, in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec, Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent was killed in a separate attack. The attacks of October 2014 left a lasting mark on our country, but they did not change who we are. pm.gc.ca/en/news/statements/…

Thank you to the Filipino Canadian Coalition for a thoughtful conversation about their pre-budget submission. I appreciated hearing their ideas for supporting entrepreneurs, opening doors for skilled professionals, and investing in spaces that bring communities together.

This morning, I met with faith leaders from across Canada, brought together by @one_in_canada. Faith leaders are often on the front lines of serving their communities. It’s important that the voices and experiences they hear back home are part of the conversations we have here in Ottawa.

The Canadian flag will fly at half-mast on federal buildings across Canada. All Canadians stand with the service members at CFB Wainwright, their families, and their community.

This is not something Canada can afford to ignore. CBC’s reporting exposes allegations of neo-Nazi ideology, antisemitism, racial hatred and discussions of violence within Second Sons Canada. Hate groups cannot be allowed to recruit, organize and spread their poison unchecked. Authorities, institutions and communities must take this threat seriously and act decisively against violent extremism. apple.news/ADVT90iVES7CB2F2K…

On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we remember the children who never returned home and honour the survivors, families and communities who continue to carry their lasting impacts. We recognize the pain of the residential school system and the responsibility we all share to listen and learn.
