Nobody took your power. You traded it, and you got a decent price. I wrote a new book. We talk about algorithms as though they were imposed on us. They weren’t. They were adopted, enthusiastically, because the deal was good. Faster, cheaper, easier, free. I’ve spent thirty years inside search and AI helping make that deal attractive, so I’m hardly innocent here. “Power in the Modern World” traces the five levers power has always used: military, economic, political, religious and social. Then it looks at what happens when AI is attached to all five. The history is interesting. The mirror is worse. Because the real question isn’t who holds the power. It’s what you’d actually give up to get some of yours back. Convenience? Reach? The feed? Most people find, when they’re honest, that the answer is not very much. That’s worth knowing about yourself before someone else works it out first. The second half is what to do once you’ve been honest: • Build on what machines are bad at. Judgment and empathy still count. • Decentralise where it actually costs you something, because that’s where it works. • Read the algorithm in the room before you agree to its terms. No villains in this one. Just a mirror and a map. Pre-order: amazon.com/dp/B0HDK5F2PQ

Dixon Jones (@Dixon_Jones) shares that most SEO tools still optimise for website traffic, but users want answers, and increasingly, AI gives them those answers without a website visit ever occurring. maj.to/3P3uhAk

I said no to llms.txt. No to magic files for LLMs. No to serving alternates .md versions of your content. No to snake oil. So why did I publish an entitymap.json on 1492 dot vision? Not a remedy. A compass. Full write-up 👇 linkedin.com/pulse/i-publish… ping @Dixon_Jones

Waikay-mcp. Add and view prompts. Read Action plans and Topic reports... lost more. Use this command: "pip install waikay-mcp" (without the quotes) Documentation at github.com/DixonJones/waikay… (Needs a Waikay account to use... obvs...)

Love the work @Dixon_Jones is doing by approaching AI search optimization with ensuring the models know factually accurate information about your brand BTW - his tool WAIKAY is one of my favorites for AI search so far @athenseo – at Argyroupoli, Greece

Hey @Ryanair apparently I cannot put these in the overhead locker! Isn’t that a violation as I am in an emergency seat? :) Looking forward to your usual considered response.
