Jsyk sustainability is very expensive.
On paper, sustainability is supposed to save money use less energy, lower utility bills, and waste fewer resources. But upfront, the gatekeeping is painfully real.
When you look at the material and logistical side of things, the premium attached to sustainable building is hard to ignore. The upfront material tax, testing and certification costs and the "Knowledge Gap" labor cost.
It almost feels like a luxury tax for trying to do the right thing.
