Shes talking about bad loans 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Nearly 10 lakh crores of loans written off by banks for large corporates in last 12 years. Absolutely shameless. This is what happens when they consider the citizens of the country as fools and idiots who they can brainwash anytime.
We all know how @INCIndia has used Banks and financial institutions as personal entities and pressured bank employees to extend loans at their whim, bypassing prudent lending norms. Let me list a few instances. - In 1957, Haridas Mundra got money from LIC due to influence by the Congress leaders. - In 1976, Indira Gandhi's government removed SBI Chairman R.K. Talwar after he refused political pressure to relax lending conditions for a company linked to Sanjay Gandhi's circle. - Sanjay Gandhi pressured the Central Bank of India over loans to Maruti. - B. Janardhana Poojary, MoS Finance under Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi — pressured bank employees to issue loans in the 1980s. - Pawan Kumar Bansal, as a minister in the UPA, pressured Canara Bank to give loans to his family-linked businesses. The IDBI Bank was handed over to us in poor shape, as IDBI itself was forced to lend to large business groups with close connections to @INCIndia leaders such as Videocon, Winsome, ABG Shipyard, Kingfisher, etc. These turned into bad loans, causing huge losses for IDBI Bank, which we recognised. The NDA govt led by Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi revived the IDBI bank through professionalism, prudence and recapitalisation of more than Rs 25,000 crores. The IDBI Bank is now poised for its next phase of growth. All due process has been followed in the IDBI Bank strategic restructuring, and we have already clarified this yesterday. Check this: pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.… Many more instances of blatant scams and economic mismanagement have been covered in the White Paper on the Indian Economy released in February 2024. It remains relevant even now. Read here: bsmedia.business-standard.co… Your lies with respect to Rafale had failed and were exposed. You had to apologise. The same will happen here. Congress-era banking had a phonebook for the powerful and a rulebook for the common citizens. The era of 'connection and setting banking' is over. Common people now have easy access to loans, and employees are not under pressure to extend loans over the phone calls.

My warning about the sale of IDBI Bank to Canada’s Fairfax now takes on an even more disturbing dimension. Businessworld’s explosive report reveals a bizarre turn: after Fairfax’s initial bid of Rs. 75 per share fell short of the original reserve price of Rs. 94.42 fixed by Govt, the methodology was revisited and Fairfax’s revised bid of Rs. 81 was accepted - after reducing the reserve price to Rs. 75.99!. This time, Govt also agreed to indemnify IDBI's disputed income tax liability, with potential additional exposure alone amounting to hundreds of crores. To justify accepting less than the original minimum price, the Government reportedly invoked an unusual precedent: the Railway Stores Code for auctioning scrap which states "Bids lower than the reserve prices may, however, be accepted by the Depot Officer where found expedient provided the Depot Officer doing so records his reasons in writing" - to help justify the sale of a strategic public bank!! Since when is a national banking asset to be treated like railway scrap? Who changed the rules, why, and in whose interest - and at what cost to the public? Worse, the internal note reportedly cited weak FDI inflows, currency pressures and treasury strain to justify the sale on reduced rates - even as the Finance Minister publicly defends India’s economic fundamentals and official figures report record gross FDI inflows. @palakshahjourno @BWBusinessworld @IdbiFor #IDBIBank #IDBISaleScam businessworld.in/article/sen…
While the entire country is engulfed in the SIR controversy and the crisis surrounding the CEC, is the Government practising the political equivalent of “പുര കത്തുമ്പോൾ വാഴ വെട്ടുക” - exploiting a national distraction to push through a momentous decision affecting India’s banking sovereignty, in the hope that it will escape public scrutiny? In my June 2026 letter to the Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, I flagged my serious concerns over Fairfax’s bid for IDBI Bank. The Cabinet has now cleared the sale of a 60.72% stake to the Fairfax Group for Rs. 52,878 crore, with a possible merger with CSB Bank, already under Fairfax’s control, reportedly in the offing. Parliament was assured that Government ownership of IDBI would never fall below 51%. What happened to that solemn commitment? With over 20,000 employees and the future of social-reservation safeguards and public banking at stake, this sale is far more than disinvestment. It signals the ‘foreignisation of Indian banking’. India’s banks weathered the 2008 global financial crisis, protected by safeguards against excessive foreign control and speculative exposure. That resilience is now being eroded. CSB’s experience under foreign control offers a troubling warning: its permanent workforce reportedly plunged from 2,906 in 2015 to just 906, while contract staffing surged. Lending to agriculture, education, housing and small businesses reportedly declined as corporate exposure grew. Foreignisation threatens not only financial sovereignty, but also regular employment opportunities, reservation in recruitment, and the very purpose of social banking. #Bankprivatisation #IDBIBank #StopIDBIPrivatisation

Dear Madam FM @nsitharaman : Request your detailed explanation on what happened with the bids for @IDBI_Bank and the allegation of fresh valuation after opening bids. Were this to happen in a private company instead of @FinMinIndia - heads would have rolled by now or a detailed explanation offered!

Nirmala Sitharaman, dragging up incidents from 1957 and the 1980s won’t answer questions about your government’s record. Under Modi, public sector banks have written off over ₹12 lakh crore in loans between 2015-16 and 2024-25. These are not loan waivers, but the scale of corporate bad debts cannot simply be brushed aside. And now, after pumping over ₹25,000 crore of public money into IDBI Bank to revive it, your government is transferring 60.72% control to a private foreign investor. The real question is simple: Why should taxpayers bear the cost of rescuing a public institution, only to see control handed over to private ownership? Stop lecturing us about Congress’s past. Answer for your government’s present. Public money, public accountability!

Is this the BJP government's way of punishing the Chief of the Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal A. P. Singh, for raising uncomfortable questions in the national interest? Since assuming office on 30 September 2024, he has repeatedly raised red flags about India's defence preparedness and the government's strategic and operational shortcomings concerning the Air Force. Some of the key concerns he has highlighted include: - India's growing capability gap with China - The gap between government promises and ground realities - Delays in indigenous defence production - Questions over the government's commitment to *Atmanirbhar Bharat* in defence - Critical capability gaps in the IAF - Shortcomings in defence research and development - Shortages of skilled talent in the defence sector If a decorated Air Chief Marshal raises legitimate concerns about India's defence preparedness, should he be penalised for speaking the truth - or should the government act on those concerns? Is this how a nation honours its heroes?

🚨This is a SLAP on dictator Modi face 🔥 When a former Home Secretary says this, Amit Shah should be worried. G.K. Pillai, former Union Home Secretary, to BBC : > "Delhi Police's image has been badly damaged." > "Unless they have been given directions to handle protesters so badly that they won't come to protest again." > "Protesters said the police told them: we will beat you so much that you won't come next time. That is not the job of the police." Think about it for a second. This is not a Congress spokesperson. Not a YouTuber. Not a "toolkit". This is the man who once ran India's Home Ministry. He knows exactly how orders flow from the top. > Students with placards? Detained. > Ankita Bhandari's parents? Detained. > Opposition MPs? Barricaded. > Delhi Police? Reports straight to Amit Shah. When the people who ran the system say the system is being misused, the "anti-national" label stops working. You can shut the safety valve, Modi ji. But pressure doesn't disappear. It only builds. Dissent is not a crime. Silencing it is 🗿🔥
