CA Urban IPM Program apprentices shadowed Dr. Thomas Green, co-founder of the IPM Institute, during an IPM evaluation at a facility in Santa Ana. They gained valuable insights into how to assess and improve IPM practices based on the Green Shield Certified standards.

Apprentices participating in our CA Urban IPM program recently had the opportunity to shadow Dr. Thomas Green, co-founder of the IPM Institute, for an IPM evaluation of a Davis facility.
Participants learned how to conduct evaluations of facilities that want to improve their IPM practices through the Green Shield Certified program. A second shadow evaluation is planned for May.
The CA Urban IPM workshop, held as part of the 11th International IPM Symposium, gave attendees the opportunity to learn about structural IPM, discuss current pest and weed challenges and collaboratively develop IPM management scenarios to address these issues.
