I’ve listened to this podcast. It is excellent. Knowing others have the same thoughts I’ve had. The entire AI industry is a house of cards. Short it into the ground.
OpenAI spent $34 billion in 2025 and posted an operating loss of nearly $21 billion. Many times on the show, I’ve heard how AI is going to become the most valuable technology in human history. But when I saw those spending figures, I had to ask a very different question: do the underlying economics actually support the story we’re being told? So I brought in Ed Zitron. Ed is a technology writer, researcher and one of the most outspoken critics of the current AI boom. He writes 'Where’s Your Ed At', hosts the 'Better Offline' podcast and spends an extraordinary amount of time digging through company financials, infrastructure spending and the relationships between some of the biggest companies in Silicon Valley. His argument isn’t that AI is useless. His argument is that we’ve blurred the line between what these products can do today and the financial expectations we've placed on them. We discussed things like: - Why he believes OpenAI could become the centre of a much bigger financial problem. - The enormous amount of money being spent on data centres and whether the demand exists to justify it. - How money can move between AI companies, chip companies and cloud providers in ways that make the industry appear healthier than it might really be. - What could happen to markets, jobs and ordinary investors if the economics eventually stop working. I’ve had many conversations about how powerful AI could become, but this conversation forced me to look much more closely at the balance sheets underneath the hype. When trillions of dollars, massive global infrastructure and our economic futures are pinned to one narrative, we have to listen to the person standing on the other side of the room asking if the numbers add up. Whether Ed turns out to be right or wrong, these are questions everyone paying attention to AI needs to hear. Out now on all platforms ❤️👊🏾

If the $7-10 billion expansion fee is true, then the next MLB expansion to Salt Lake City and Nashville/Charlotte/Raleigh just got a lot more expensive.
Just in: The NBA will hold a vote at the Board of Governors meetings March 24-25 to explore adding expansion teams exclusively in Las Vegas and Seattle, with the two franchises targeted for the 2028-29 season, sources tell ESPN. There is momentum for stakeholders to approve surveying what industry executives project will be bids in the $7-to-$10 billion range for each team.

Don’t counter trade this fool at your own peril. $BTC $TIA
Increasingly convinced last Friday's massacre broke crypto for a while - hard to quickly develop a sustained bid, after such a meltdown. This cycle has been disappointing for most, which can paralyze action as people hope for bluer skies, or former ATHs. It's easy to get caught up in chart minutiae, but when looking at $BTC and $ETH in linear monthly (see below), it reveals *we're still in the elevated range* (although showing cracks), if you're thinking of taking profits. $MSTR is slipping, gold is sending a warning, as are credit markets, and stocks will be the last to get the message. We can always get another weak bounce, but I've taken action accordingly (remember, it's never all or nothing when raising cash). I want to see how $BTC responds to $100K, but will likely get interested in the market again when I see $BTC $75K or lower. This bull was different, and the next bear will be different too.

I would trade Selig’s 1997 MLB realignment proposal for the atrocity that’s happening now with an NL DH and every team playing each other.

So happy for Jalen Hurts winning the SB and so thankful my Failcons and Terry Failtenot did not draft him. Otherwise his redemption arc would never have been completed. #atlantafalcons

And to think Boise State is a bye team. This 12 team playoff is the biggest scam in the history of western civilization.

Bama and Ole Miss would throttle Indiana. But, instead they’re at home cuz Indiana played exactly one ranked team this year (and got pulverized by them).

Phillies defeated. NL bye teams now 0-5. This is an absolute disgrace for MLB and the clown commissioner Rob Manfred. The 162 game regular season is completely meaningless in this playoff format. #Phillies
