L&I multa con >$77,000 a Nippon Dynawave en #Longview después de que un trabajador estuviera a punto de quedar cubierto de pulpa caliente tras caer en un socavón. La investigación estaba abierta antes del accidente del tanque que mató a 11 personas en mayo y no está relacionada.

L&I is fining the Nippon Dynawave #Longview mill >$77,000 after a worker was nearly covered in hot pulp when he fell into a sinkhole at the plant. This investigation was already open when the tank rupture killed 11 workers earlier this year, and is not related.

L&I’s Safety & Health Investment Projects (SHIP) grant program is taking applications for a $175,000 grant to implement ideas to prevent workplace injuries, illnesses, and fatalities. It also provides grants to implement innovative return-to-work programs for injured workers.
