As a routine, proactive step following @TheTNetwork’s maintenance update on tBTC, we’ve restricted new tBTC deposits and new borrows against tBTC on Aave.
Aave’s contracts are not affected, existing positions remain unchanged, and users can continue to repay and withdraw as normal.
Once maintenance is complete, new tBTC deposits and borrows will be available again.
tBTC minting and redemptions temporarily paused
We have temporarily paused new BTC deposits/tBTC minting and new Bitcoin redemption requests through the Threshold app as a precaution while security maintenance is completed. Pending redemptions may still be paid on Bitcoin, but final settlement on Ethereum is paused and some transactions may be delayed.
Please do not send BTC to previously generated deposit addresses or initiate new deposit/mint or redemption operations through alternative interfaces during this pause.
If you have already deposited BTC, keep your deposit receipt and transaction hashes. Do not repeat the transaction to try to clear a pending status. You can continue checking its status in the app’s Explorer.
This pause does not affect holding, transferring or using tBTC.
We will share confirmed updates, including an estimated time for resuming normal operations when available, through Threshold’s official channels. Thank you for your patience.
Update following the Binance incident:
All markets are now unfrozen across Aave V3 and V4.
They were frozen as a precaution after initial reports, which paused new deposits and borrows while withdrawals and repayments continued as normal.
Aave contracts were unaffected by the incident and positions remained fully collateralized.

Masterclass in crisis and risk management,
Aave markets have been re-enabled, all positions are over collateralised and aave has no bad debt!

Lending and borrowing are now re-enabled on Aave following a precautionary freeze.
Withdrawals and repayments remained available throughout.
Aave was unaffected, and all positions remain overcollateralized.

A crazy 24 hours, but Aave markets are back in business.
Few things to note:
1. Aave is fine.
2. Withdrawals and repayments stayed open the whole time.
3. We’re changing the “freeze” language so it’s clearer for anyone who doesn’t follow protocol terms.

Replying to @Picolas_Caged
It didn't create bad debt on Aave, Aave was unaffected. Deposits was frozen as a precautionary measure teapawt.org/aave/status/2115937863…
We’re aware of reports of a potential incident affecting Binance-affiliated wallets.
Aave’s contracts are unaffected, and positions remain overcollateralized. As a precaution, all DAO-operated markets across V3 and V4 have been frozen.
The freeze pauses new deposits and borrows, and users can still withdraw and repay their existing positions.

No bad debt, contracts unaffected, and positions are still overcollateralised, super quick response here by aave freezing markets as a precaution.
Really proactive risk management when it matters most. Gg

quick ones
1) Binance has enough to withstand 3-4x of current hit and still be largely intact. Very likely they will shrug this off and user funds are very likely safu (but like obviously don’t deposit until they sort out what went wrong)
2) Wintermute obv has exposure to binance, but less than 20% of net equity and I don’t see any disruption to our operations on any time horizon in whatever scenario
Aave markets have been frozen as a precaution until the Binance situation stabilizes.
All positions remain overcollateralized, and users can still withdraw and repay their existing positions.
Stay safu out there 🙏

Aave markets are "frozen", not "paused".
- No new deposits or borrows allowed.
- Withdrawals, repayments, and liquidations keep running (those stop when pausing).
Whether or not you agree with the freeze, it's good to know the difference.

Truly extraordinary and immediate response from the Aave DAO to safeguard DeFi and our users.
Proud to be a part of such a stronghold ecosystem.
Since the first reports of the Binance hot wallet hack, we’ve been working with Aave Labs and the other @Aave service providers to protect Aave and its users.
All Aave V3 and select V4 markets are now frozen to new exposure as a precaution.
> Existing positions are not affected. Users can repay and withdraw, and liquidations run as normal.

We're tracking the exploiter's activity in real time and will share additional updates as the situation develops.

So the hacker supplied stables and borrowed WETH on Aave
No rational person would conclude that there is a threat to Aave here
Really some dumb takes today

1/4 EIP-7702 can turn the wallet itself into the sweeper.
A Binance-labeled wallet moved 167,464 ETH + 63 tokens, including 1.615B USDT, just 3m24s after a signed delegation was installed.
This is bad.

Introducing @chainlink 24/7, coming soon to stock-backed loans on Aave.
It delivers continuous pricing for stocks and other RWAs through weekends and holidays, strengthening DeFi’s ability to onboard the $150 trillion equities market and beyond.
NEW: Chainlink 24/7 launches at Link:NYC, unlocking always-on pricing for tokenized RWAs.
Chainlink 24/7 delivers continuous market data for equities, commodities, and other real-world assets across trading sessions, weekends, and market holidays, enabling:
→ Prediction markets and perpetual futures with 24/7 trading and settlement
→ Lending protocols that manage tokenized collateral when traditional markets close
→ Investors to manage position risk around the clock
@aave is adopting Chainlink 24/7 to bring always-on pricing to institutional RWA lending.
Global markets. No closing bell.
The future of finance is here, and it’s powered by Chainlink.

Our proposal to raise blue-chip borrowing power on @Aave V3 and V4 is implemented.
Key updates on Core:
> WETH: 81% LTV / 84% LT
> WBTC, cbBTC: 81% LTV / 85% LT
> wstETH, weETH: +1 pt to both
Each limit reflects measured tail risk, liquidation speed and exit liquidity.

Interesting launch by @ethena with Earn+, giving @EthenaPay users 12% yield on deposits.
Users deposit on an @upshift_fi vault curated by @SteakhouseFi and assets flow to @aave V4 on @avax.
Specifically, the vault uses the Aave V4 Ethena Ecosystem Spoke on Avalanche, which allows USDe as collateral to borrow stables.
The strategy to generate the yield is a USDe/USDT loop (supply USDe, borrow USDT, swap for more USDe and repeat).
This is particularly interesting as a neobank Earn program using DeFi programmability to compete with vanilla T-bill rates, being able to offer 12% yield.
So far the Aave V4 Spoke saw ~$5M in deposits as the product is rolled out to EthenaPay Pro and VIP users, with Standard tier access coming in the next days.
The @ether_fi team executed one of the most impressive product expansions in the last cycle growing into the most successful self custodial neobank in the space. We've been impressed from the outside on their execution quality, consistency building through the bear market and obsessive focus on product - one of the few teams we look up to at Ethena.
Yes it is somewhat competitive with Ethena Pay, but the very best builders just focus on building the best product with the best partners, and look beyond the crypto-native user set as the addressable market opportunity. Ethena will power their new whitelabel stablecoin end-to-end, with USDe already supporting their separate earn savings vaults.
In order for these applications to fully capture their revenue opportunity, they need to control the deposit and float via stablecoin balances. This is a trend @ether_fi will pioneer and I'm sure we will see others will follow closely behind.
