Growing up in the Hudson Valley, the daughter of a postal worker and a construction worker, I learned the values of hard work and service to community at a young age — values I’ve carried with me throughout my lifetime of service to our country. One year ago, 45 members of the Auburn TA were denied salary advancement for completing graduate coursework at accredited institutions that had been preapproved by their district.
Recently, thanks to union advocacy, they tasted victory.
