Did your brain stimulation effect disappear, or did task demands hide it?
Int-Veen & Ehlis show heavy post-stimulation cognitive load can mask neural TMS changes in fNIRS, urging accounting for post-stim task demands.

Is the seizure onset zone hyperconnected or disconnected?
LaRocque et al. show it is both: strongly wired to itself, yet functionally isolated from the rest of the brain.

We’re happy to announce that Heart-Brain Connect Live is now available!
Motor TMS has the thumb twitch. The prefrontal cortex now has a real-time equivalent: Heart-Brain Coupling (HBC).
With this software (Mac/Windows) and a Polar H10, you can quantify HBC in real time during any rTMS protocol with an on/off duty cycle, and (batch) process existing ECG recordings. You can run it during rTMS sessions, probe different prefrontal sites at different intensities, or develop your own grid-search procedure.

🧠 What if the right moment to stimulate the brain is defined not by the state of a brain region, but by the state of the pathway we want to modify?
We explore this idea in the context of cortico-cortical paired associative stimulation (ccPAS). mdpi.com/2306-5354/13/10/115…
