🕓Temporary timetable changes are in place on some routes across our network this week due to autumn conditions.
🍂Slippery rails mean that services need to run at a reduced speed, which can cause congestion. We have amended timetables in place to ensure services run as reliably and safely as possible. More details can be found here northernrailway.co.uk/travel…
⚠️Journeys will be amended as follows.
There will be fewer trains than normal on these routes on Thursday 5 November:
- Newcastle to Ashington in both directions
Some stations on the following routes will have fewer trains than normal on Thursday 5 November and Friday 6 November:
- Between Leeds and York via Harrogate - Trains will not stop at either Headingley or Weeton, in both directions.
- Between Manchester Piccadilly and Chester - Some trains will not stop at Ashley, Mobberley, Cuddington, Delamere and Mouldsworth in both directions.
- Between Manchester Piccadilly and New Mills Central - Some trains will not stop at Ashburys and Brinnington, Belle Vue and Ryder Brow in both directions.
The following changes are expected to be in place until Sunday 8 November:
- Between Sheffield and Scarborough - Trains will run express between Hull and Bridlington in both directions; stations between Hull and Bridlington will still be served by York to Bridlington trains.
- Between Hull and Halifax - Trains will start and terminate at Bradford Interchange. Halifax and Low Moor will be served by our Bradford Interchange to Leeds and Leeds to Chester services. Halifax will also be served by our York to Blackpool North trains.
- Between Leeds and Chester - Trains will not stop at New Pudsey or Bramley in both directions; these stations will be served by our Hull-Bradford Interchange service.
- Between Leeds and Manchester Victoria - Trains will not stop at New Pudsey or Bramley in both directions; these stations will be served by our Hull-Bradford Interchange service.
If your journey is delayed by 15 minutes or more, you are eligible to claim Delay Repay. If disruption prevents you from completing your journey, you can request a refund at northernrailway.co.uk/help.

Whilst we’re still tackling autumn conditions, our friends @networkrail are carrying out preparation works for the winter, including preparing for what is expected to be a very wet winter.

In the North West of England we've targeted priority sites to prevent weather-related delays this winter.
We've inspected all 130 hot spot drainage and earthworks sites in the region ahead of what’s forecast to be a very wet November and December.
