Today was huge for the hospitality workers’ movement in Glasgow. Within a few hours, hundreds of our members - old + new - challenged the belligerence of their bosses and won.
We have built several cells of worker-power in a single day. Weeks where decades happen and all that.

Here, the English King, in a land his ancestors invaded, wearing the traditional dress the same family once outlawed, visits a foodbank, that exists only because of the same harms his class inflict on the poor today.

This isn’t a feel-good story. By leaving this to local fundraisers, the Govt has abdicated their duties.
The message/intent is clear, under austerity, we can only save ourselves.
Just over a week ago, Spellow Library was set alight by rioters
Since then, the local community has raised nearly £250,000 to rebuild it better than ever
We spoke to fundraising leader, Alex McCormick, about the resilience and strength of the local community

Israel just killed 100 displaced people in an air strike on a school in Gaza.
Everyday for over 300 days, Israel has been allowed to kill men, women and children.
The world really is just going to let this genocide continue in front of all our eyes

Anti-fascists have mobilized to push back far-right mobs wreaking havoc in the UK.
Anti-fascist counter-protesters, mostly from the local Muslim community, have come together in the town of Bolton, northern England, to defend the area from far-right groups who have been conducting pogroms, looting local stores, assaulting immigrants, and vandalizing mosques. Organized mainly by remnants of the “English Defence League (EDL),” a fascist group that was active 10 years ago.
More clashes are expected later today as violent pogroms from the far-right continue across England, triggered by fake news accusing Muslims of a stabbing in the town of Southport.

This is where our death-driven, cheap, racist politics has gotten us. I am disgusted by every level of British society that has participated in the dehumanisation of migrants for the past several decades. This is on you.

The genocide being carried out in Gaza will be remembered as the singular defining horror of our time. People will look back in disgust at the politicians, arms companies, and institutions which enabled it. And they will despise those who deny it.

“We must resist the IMF, World Bank, Britain, and the US”, say protesters in Kenya as mobilizations continue over a month after they first erupted over a neoliberal tax measure that punished the poor.
Protesters have blocked key highways around the country as calls grow for the Prime Minister’s resignation. Though the Finance Bill pushed by the government has been withdrawn, protesters are continuing their mobilizations against the government’s subservience to foreign powers.
At least 50 protesters have been killed by regime forces so far. Kenya’s Prime Minister Ruto has been hailed as a close American ally and was recently in Washington for a state visit to discuss the deployment of Kenyan troops to Haiti to secure US interests.

Today we celebrate the beginning of the 13th year of the Rojava Revolution!
The Revolution was built on the blood of thousands of martyrs, incessant work of popular organization & a lot of effort to overcome limitations caused by embargoes & attacks by the fascist Turkish State.
