Each day, Tidal receives an overwhelming amount of AI-generated music from 3rd party distributors. It has been clear for some time that we need to evolve our platform and standards to deal with this new type of submission to our catalog, so today we are announcing an AI-generated music policy designed to provide a great experience for our listeners, while protecting the authenticity and livelihoods of artists and rightholders.
We're a music platform that puts artists and listeners first. To protect artists and keep listeners informed, here's how we're handling AI-generated music on Tidal beginning on July 15:
- 100% AI-generated tracks will receive a badge that says “AI” and will not receive royalties.
- Content designed to impersonate other artists gets removed.
- Listeners will be able to filter all 100% AI-generated content out.
- These standards also apply to Tidal Uploads.

Their selections include Hamilton, Efxto, Silvana Estrada, Elena Rose, Paloma Morphy, Solely, and more. tidal.com/view/pages/m_lhm

In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.
➕👀
That little plus sign says we can create collaborative playlists on @TIDAL now. Seeing it on the Web app for the very first time. Good things cooking up. 🎚️
(Not sure if it's rolled out for everyone, I have enabled beta features.)

We completely modernized our playlist APIs recently. Much better performance for working with massive playlists.
