ALT Gender Diversity in Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Most discussions of "gender diversity" in SLT only focus on a binary perspective of gender to examine the lower proportion of men in the profession. Not enough acknowledge how race, ethnicity, sexuality, disability, neurodiversity etc, affect the conversation. They rarely take into account trans and non-binary identities. The voices we hear on this topic should reflect the change we need to see in the profession. Following on from UK SLT Pride Network's successful collaboration with SLTeaTime on intersectionality in SLT, we are looking to record a discussion on gender diversity in SLT. If you would like to share your experience in a recorded discussion on how intersections such as race, ethnicity, sexuality, disability, trans/non binary identities and neurodiversity affect gender diversity in speech and language therapy please contact us above by Tues 31st Jan.
