They tried to get a 10 year regulatory moratorium, but that failed in the US Senate and is unpopular across the political spectrum.

Correct me if I am wrong but aren't these tech companies basically lobbying for immunity for the actions of AI? The US President has been blocking states' rights to fight or slow the AI push as well.

What a comeback for the Trop. It deserves a World Series!
The Rays will host World Series games at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg two years after Hurricane Milton tore the roof off the stadium. Beth Herendeen, the city official overseeing the project, said she believed the stadium could be repaired even after seeing the damage.

RIP to a great country artist and the pride of Apopka, FL, John Anderson. “Seminole Wind” is one of the best songs of all-time about Florida.
John Anderson, whose unmistakable voice helped make him a country music legend, died peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday at age 71, his family said. @anthonymasoncbs, who spoke with Anderson in 2022, after a mysterious illness “almost completely” took away the singer-songwriter’s hearing, takes a look at his legacy.

Before voters raised the homestead exemption five-fold (from $5k to $25k) in 1980, many said the sky would fall. It didn‘t.

Imagine a rogue AI agent liquidating your bank account and investment portfolio. If you are the only victim, I suppose you could get made whole by the AI company responsible. If rogue agents liquidate hundreds of billions across millions of accounts, the AI company would go bankrupt and you wouldn’t get made whole. Imposing criminal liability on AI executives might help mitigate it at the front end, but once the crime is complete and you lose everything criminal responsibility will be necessary but completely insufficient.
SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios. The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios. Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said. Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior. Read my latest for Axios here: axios.com/2026/10/22/ai-agen…

In just the past seven years, property tax revenues across Florida’s 67 counties have increased nearly 100 percent. Local governments are taking in almost twice as much money—for more than the inflation in population has increased. The State of Florida has reduced its budget FOUR YEARS in a row. Local governments can surely do the same. Amendment 3 creates a path to full elimination of property taxes for homesteaded Floridians. It also provides immediate and meaningful relief for Florida residents by expanding the homestead exemption from non-school property taxes. Vote YES on Amendment 3!

In 2019, local governments took in $32 billion in property tax revenue. In 2026, that number is now $62 billion. Had the 2019 revenue merely be adjusted for population growth and inflation through this year, it would amount to roughly $49 billion — $13 billion less than current revenue collections. Why not return some of that extra $13 billion to taxpayers?

Vote Yes on 3! The passage of Amendment 3 will be the largest property tax relief in a generation. At the same time, local governments will still take in far more in property tax revenue than they would have had revenues merely kept pace with inflation and population growth since 2019.

Dems regaining control and then immediately reverting to lawfare against Musk will backfire — and will remind voters why they didn’t like the Democrats when they were in the majority the last time.

WHY IN THE WORLD did you guys title the amendment “INCREASED HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION” That’s going to confuse enough people for this not to pass 🤦🏻‍♂️ You should have called it “PROPERTY TAX CUT” something ANYONE CAN UNDERSTAND and SUPPORT!!!

No city has made more finals trips since 2020 than Tampa Bay Does that make it the best sports town in America right now?

Replying to @RonDeSantis
The most angry I ever saw a pro ball player was one time when a pitcher threw way too inside to Hawk and hit him in the face. A newspaper photo of him either walking to first base or going to punch the pitcher is one I will never forget. I will see if I can find it on the 'net. Stand by.

Thanks to everyone who helped make this happen!
In 2023, fentanyl killed nearly 5,000 Floridians. By 2025, the death toll from fentanyl had fallen to 2,000.  Florida’s State Assistance for Fentanyl Eradication (S.A.F.E.) grant program has supercharged law enforcement capacity to keep our communities safe from deadly illicit drugs. We have strengthened drug interdiction efforts, supported law enforcement operations to dismantle cartel-linked trafficking syndicates, and increased access to life-saving tools like naloxone for first responders. In addition to the 60% decline in fentanyl overdose deaths, the latest Florida Medical Examiners Commission report found that deaths caused by fentanyl analogs have declined by over 50%. The data also show broader declines in all drug-related deaths over the past year. We will continue supporting law enforcement and remain committed to protecting the health, safety, and well-being of Floridians.
