Tribalism is when “Hindu khatre mein hai” matters more to you than “Democracy khatre mein hai.”
When religious identity becomes more important than democratic freedom, tribalism has triumphed over reason.
Something is fundamentally broken in the Indian legal system. The very institution meant to uncover the truth and uphold justice increasingly appears to be more concerned with suppressing the truth than exposing it. When truth becomes a threat, justice becomes a casualty.
Gandhiji led the Dandi March in 1930. In 2026, we have the Repost March.
The medium has changed. The spirit of Satyagraha lives on.
Repost. Resist. Repeat.
Why do I get the feeling that the relentless posting and reposting of this documentary is becoming the modern-day equivalent of Mahatma Gandhi’s Satyagraha movement?
A peaceful resistance to power, where truth becomes the weapon and sharing it becomes an act of defiance.
The court says truthful reporting and constructive criticism backed by evidence are permitted. Yet it orders restrictions before the respondents can even be heard, citing potential reputational harm.
Since when did protecting reputation take precedence over freedom of speech and due process?
“Constructive criticism or truthful reporting on the petitioner or on Government policy, backed by evidence, is not barred. Online content spreads quickly through reposts and re-uploads, and the injury to reputation from continued republication cannot be adequately compensated in money. If the order is not passed now, its purpose will be defeated by further dissemination before the respondents can be heard,” the court said.
I’m shocked by Justice Aryak’s judgment. I’m no lawyer, but I believe it strikes at the very foundation of democracy-the fundamental right to free speech. A judgment that silences citizens for speaking their minds threatens the constitutional freedoms of every Indian.
Adani be like: “You can accuse me of looting the nation, but how dare you damage my reputation by talking about it? That’s defamation!”
Chor ko chor nahi bologe, toh kya raja bologe? Sirf defamation ke darr se sach bolna chhod doge?
Sach bolna defamation nahi, himmat hai.
Adani is suing me for ₹50 crore, apparently valuing the damage to his reputation at that amount.
I contend that wealth acquired through alleged wrongdoing does not confer credibility or reputation.
My valuation of that reputation? ₹0.
And if the reputational damage is zero, the compensation should be zero.
₹50 crore demanded. ₹0 deserved.
The entire lawsuit! Thoughts?

As long as the “great leader” was the subject of jokes and ridicule, there was no backlash. But the moment questions were raised about his sources of funding, all hell broke loose.
Makes you wonder-what exactly struck a nerve?
