Our newest feature, Scrimba Explain, is currently competing on Product Hunt! 🚀
Explain generates a narrated video tutorial about anything you ask, instantly. You can:
⬆️ Upload files
➕ Add links
👯♀️ Paste code
⌨️ Type in whatever you’re trying to understand
It's MUCH faster than any of the video generation models, as we utilise our DOM-based playback technology.
The video explainer can include:
🖼️ Images
💻 Code walkthroughs
🎥 Animations
📈 Diagrams and other visual aids
💬 Voiceover
🔤 Captions
🔺 Cursor
It feels more like YouTube than traditional chatbot UX!
We'd love your honest feedback on the product, how you've been using it and what we should build next.

Explain turns Reddit into a TV station – redditwatch.tv 🍿
See the thread 🧵 below for details:
RedditTV automagically✨ creates short videos of any Reddit post, summarising the discussion in seconds.
📺 The homepage pulls in Reddit's most popular posts which refresh every 15 minutes and you can also use the search field to tune into the most popular posts from any subreddit (subreddit feeds refresh once per day).
✨These explainer videos are generated on-the-fly within seconds the first time someone clicks a post and we cache them for instant playback for the next viewer 🍿
Here's a few explainers that caught our eye 👀
Elizabeth Holmes is a villain, a victim, and complicit in her own victimization. 🩸 #YouCanSeeEverything

Explain turns Reddit into a TV station – redditwatch.tv 🍿
See the thread 🧵 below for details:
While there are obvious visual drawbacks of using HTML to generate video instead of diffusion models, there are two huge benefits that we lean into:
⚡️ Speed: way faster to generate than pixel-based videos (just a few seconds from click to playback)
🤑 Cost: our current cost per video is ~$0.04. (excludes image generation)
🚀 Our hypothesis is that when video creation goes from “dollars and minutes” to “cents and seconds”, it unlocks a broad set of tangible new business cases.
🗓️ We only beta launched Explain in July and have already blasted past 350,000 explainers. 🚀🌙
👉 You can try Explain for free on our site (scrimba.com/explain), with the handy plugin for ChatGPT, via MCP 🔌 for use within coding agents like Claude and Codex (devs are using it to generate accompanying videos for every pull request) and also via the brand new Explain API ✨ to create experiences like Reddit TV and HN Watch (hn.watch)

What actually happens inside an AI agent? 🤖
Find out by building one from scratch!
In our new Pro course, Learn AI Agents, you'll build an agent loop yourself, with no frameworks hiding what's happening behind the scenes.
You'll also build OpenSwap, a working AI app that searches real data and checks live project health using the GitHub API.
Along the way, you'll learn to:
🔁 Build an agent loop from scratch
🧰 Give AI agents tools they can use reliably
🌐 Connect agents to real data and live APIs
💬 Save conversations for follow-up questions
By the end, you'll understand not just how to use AI agents, but how they actually work.
Learn AI Agents is available as a standalone course or as part of our AI Engineering Path.

Here's a graph of how Explain has grown since we launched it 👇
Almost 200,000 explainer videos created in September alone 🤯
I know people say this all the time: but I truly did NOT belive it would grow this fast.
Feeling privileged to be able work on a product that so many people enjoy.
Thank you to everyone using it 🙏
