2 years ago I left my friends and home without any plan on a pure leap of faith that I needed to pursue building startups. Yesterday I presented on the grandest stage in startups at @ycombinator demo day.
In the 2 years leading up to this I have:
- Heard 1000 nos
- Moved 10 times
- Spent 4 months sleeping on couches
- Bootstrapped to success only for it to suddenly fail because of unforeseen tragedy
- Kept pushing despite dwindling savings and multiple lucrative offers until I literally had no option
- A few months later got into YC with the guy I just spent the last 2 years going through this with
All of this led to today where I am excited to share the work we are doing at @shor_pay and what’s ahead on the horizon.
While in many ways it is just the start, it also represents the culmination of this first 2 year journey.
If it has taught me anything it is that the startup game is about how long you can endure and keep focusing on what matters which is talking to customers and building a great product for them.
Here is to a great YC batch and now officially being an alum :)
