Nation Weather Services has issued a FLASH FLOOD WARNING for parts of Los Angeles County, including Santa Monica, until Saturday 12pm noon. Heavy rainfall is occurring and may lead to flash flooding. Avoid non-essential travel. DO NOT drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
Hoooray. A great day - A Line extension all the way to Pomona. I attended the "dedication" ceremony for the Pomona station last June, where I wept after one elected said that the kids in Pomona would now be able to take a one-seat ride to the Long Beach Aquarium.

This impacts the Palisades, Santa Monica Canyon, and parts of Brentwood. and only LADWP customers. NOT Santa Monica. (I keep fielding the question)
As of 6PM the Boil Water Notice only applies to the Pacific Palisades 90272 zip code and adjacent communities north of San Vincente Blvd. More info: ow.ly/a07450UCjAh

UPDATE AND CORRECTION: no fire on Adelaide. This was misreported by official city channels. But there are several spot fires in Santa Monica canyon and the city’s evacuation order stands.

I’m in shock. This is Temescal Canyon, from Sunset right down to PCH. So many memories driving up here. Everything is on fire. There was a parked car on fire.

Malibu is experiencing another wildfire , ix years after Woolsey. Track the #franklinfire hashtag for more information. There is another expansive evacuation order. Hoping everyone gets out and is safe.
our new protected bike lane ony street.... yes someone is already riding in the wrong direction, but this is Friday at rush hour (no traffic)
I'm beyond scared of a Trump administration. But locally, I see a clear path to restoring staff morale and improving city operations with the victory of @nhrushka, Dan Hall, Ellis Raskin & Barry Snell to the @santamonicacity council.
The Council will likely see a 6-1 majority for the progressive block. Even a comeback in late counting by Phil Brock would leave the Council at 5-2.

Because my @smbigbluebus was so late, I had that crap unpleasant conversation. NOT helpful that the bus stop is disgusting and has become a place for unhoused individuals to linger. We have to hold the owner of the abandoned goodwill accountable for keeping the sidewalk clean.
Reminder to self: Don't get into arguments about local taxes at my local bus stop. You find out who the assholes in your neighborhood really quickly.
