Somalia’s vibrant cultural identity was celebrated in Mogadishu today, as @UNTMIS_ Human Rights and Protection Group launched its latest report 'Somalia’s Cultural Rights Landscape: An Enabler for Peace and Inclusion' during an event that spotlighted the country’s linguistic diversity, poetry, music, and traditional arts.
While the National Library of Somalia, National Museum, and Somali Academy of Science, Culture and Arts exhibited precious cultural objects beyond the walls of those institutions, artisans from across Somalia – painters, musicians, pottery makers – showcased their art as an expression of creativity and resilience.
Proud to see our President receive a Certificate of Recognition for his contribution to strengthening the Office of the president. His work included training the President’s Secretary on guiding the shift from manual processes toward a proposed digital records.

After the devastation of civil war, when schools had collapsed and hope seemed distant, Minister Farah was among the first to act. He restarted schooling through the “Food for Education” initiative — a simple but powerful idea: children would receive food if they came to school. That initiative was not just about meals — it was about bringing a nation back to learning. From those humble beginnings, he has worked tirelessly to reestablish a national education system that now serves millions. His contributions are wide-reaching: ✅ Opened the door for thousands of scholarships abroad, helping shape Somalia’s new generation of leaders ✅ Championed girls’

Today in Mogadishu, @moechesomalia held the GPE Program Management Committee meeting, chaired by the PS and attended by DGs from FMS and Banadir, along with education development partners. Discussions focused on school construction, scholarships, teacher training, SMCs, and reducing absenteeism, with a strong emphasis on girls’ education.
@Som_Lib_Assoc welcomes the laying of the foundation stone for new schools under the #SEHCDP Project. We urge that each school includes a well-equipped library to enrich learning beyond classrooms. Quality education shapes minds, not just lessons. #Somalia #Education #Library
H.E. Abdirashid Mohamed Du’ale, Deputy Minister of @moechesomalia, laid the foundation stone for two new primary schools in Bardhere under the @SEHCDP_Somalia Project, alongside officials from the Federal and Jubaland Ministries of Education.
Funded by @WorldBank, the project will construct over 70 schools nationwide to expand access to quality education in #Somalia.
