It ends all square thanks to Sammy Obungbe’s late leveller.
Our young Saints were excellent and created plenty of chances aside from the goal.
It’s all to play for in the 2nd Leg in Vilnius next Wednesday.
FK Žalgiris goalkeeper Dominykas Čekavičius took a knock towards the end leading to a long delay, we send him our best wishes for a speedy recovery.
U20 Manager Alan Brady has been reflecting on tonight’s 1-1 draw at home to FK Žalgiris in the UEFA Youth League 2nd Round 1st Leg
86’ 1-1! Samuel Ogungbe from close range after FK Žalgiris failed to clear a corner. A deserved equaliser for The Saints!
60’ We’ve fallen behind just before the hour as Berenta converts the away side’s first real opportunity of note after a quick counter attack
We’ve made our first change too as Samuel Ogungbe comes on for Cian Doyle
0-1
Nothing between the sides on the scoresheet at the half. Niall Sullivan with our best chance but his effort was well saved by Čekavičius in the FK Žalgiris goal. We’ve had lots of the ball but no breakthrough yet.

22’ Scoreless at the midway point of the first-half in a game of few chances so far in front of a great crowd here at Richmond. 0-0
