One year ago this week, I asked my ~1.9M X followers to make stock and crypto predictions. I promised I'd report back. They ranked the stocks 100% correctly (as of yesterday’s close) and ranked the crypto 100% incorrectly. None of the stocks went up, but their #1 pick, Palantir, held up best at -1.4%. The big winner in crypto was Zcash at +99.7%, which they ranked #2. In fairness, the timelines for stock/crypto were different, so the longer-term jury is out on the latter. But who knows where X will be in a few years, so I thought it’d be fun to revisit at the same time. Here are the results as of yesterday’s close: X Predictions + Outcomes: STOCKS 1. Palantir (47.5% of votes): -1.4% 2. Shopify (27.8%): -6.5% 3. Uber (14.7%): -27.6% 4. Duolingo (10%): -36.4% CRYPTO 1. Bitcoin (46.6% of votes): -22.3% 2. Zcash (23.8%): +99.7% 3. Solana (15.7%): -41.1% 4. Ether (13.9%): -29.6% Methodology: Returns are measured from Nov 7, 2025 (the day the polls went up) to yesterday’s 3 p.m. CT close for stocks, and to prices at the time of writing for crypto (about 12:45 p.m. CT today).

What would it take to convince you that an AI—or any man-made system—is genuinely conscious? Is there an experiment you could design whose results would change your mind? Do you think our biology is critical to consciousness, and that it cannot be replicated by hardware/software? If so, why?

Just saw YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING by @A24 and it blew my mind. I'll probably watch again this week. The number of WTF moments is staggering (e.g., “Whoa, a cock in a shower! ... Holy shit, why is an infant just standing on a table behind them? ... Abbott and Costello?!” It also inspired the fuck out of me. Editing that film almost certainly took 10 years off of the lives of @nathanfielder, @lanceopp, and team. If they’d gone 80%, it would have been terrible. Instead, they went 100%, and it’s a masterpiece. I've seen all sorts of buzz online around their "marketing playbook," but here's their marketing secret: make the product so ridiculously good and unique that people can't stop talking about it. "Where am I 3/4-assing?" is the question haunting me this week. What a gift.

My recommendations if you're struggling to increase vitamin D levels despite supplementation: Make sure you're getting enough magnesium. It's an essential cofactor for vitamin D metabolism. I recommend ~300–400 mg daily from diet and supplements. Magnesium glycinate is a good supplemental form. Choose a reputable, third-party-tested vitamin D3 supplement. Studies have found large discrepancies between the amount of vitamin D on the label and what's actually in the product. Consider a more bioavailable form of vitamin D3 if you're struggling to increase your levels (VESIsorb is one formulation I mentioned to Tim). There's no one-size-fits-all dose! Genetics, absorption, and individual metabolism all affect how much vitamin D you need.

Basic Tenets for Strength from Pavel Tsatsouline: “Strength is the mother quality of all physical qualities.” “Strength is a skill, and, as such, it must be practiced.” “Lift heavy, not hard.” “Anything more than 5 reps is bodybuilding. . . . If you want to be strong, you want to keep your reps at 5 and under.” “If you are training for strength, you want to try and avoid the burn altogether. The burn is your enemy.” “Training is something that should be enjoyed.” The last quote isn’t a motivational throwaway line. It’s literal. If you’re training for maximal strength, you should feel better after your workout than you did when you walked in. There is a huge neural component.
