Can we close gender gaps without knowing where public money goes and who benefits?
Tanzania has taken important steps in gender-responsive budgeting, including its first National Gender Budget Statement for FY2026/27.
But data gaps remain
This week in Arusha, @undptz, through #EQUANOMICS, partnered with the Ministry of Finance to convene government institutions to validate the Gender-Responsive Public Financial Management Data Roadmap (2026–2030).
The workshop also addressed gender-inclusive public procurement.
The goal? Make better use of existing data, strengthen accountability and ensure gender equality priorities inform how public resources are planned, allocated and spent.
📊 Better data. Smarter budgets. More equitable development outcomes.
