If you build things with Umbraco, you should circle Nov 13 in your calendar 🗓️ That’s when we’re hosting Umbraco Builders Day. It’s our virtual hackathon with a new name, and the name says who we want there… anyone who builds with Umbraco, whether it’s your first package or your fifteenth. Our DevRel team will be online from 10:00 CET with our own half finished ideas, and we’d love for you to bring yours. The package you started last spring. The bug that keeps bugging you. The AI experiment you haven’t shown anyone yet. Hop in for your lunch break or stay until late. Pair up with someone you’ve only ever talked to on the forum or Discord, or just work quietly in good company. And if you get stuck, that’s kind of the point. That’s what we’re there for 💙 Come build with us 👇 umbra.co/4B8NHHl #Umbraco

Please note that this issue is unrelated to the recently reported PHP security vulnerability. Umbraco depends on a different framework ( .NET).

Eleven years ago, Asha Chaudhary built her first Umbraco site for a UK client. Today, she’s helping a whole new generation of developers in India find their way into Umbraco 🇮🇳 Asha is a Lead Solution Architect at GIRIRAJ DIGITAL (our first Platinum partner in India), an Umbraco Certified Master, and an Umbraco MVP 🏆 She learned by building real projects, experimenting, and leaning on the community forum along the way. Now she gives back by helping run Umbraco User Group India meetups and the Umbraco Education Program, where students have built their own websites in just two days 🎓 In this month’s uProfile, Asha talks about a Sitecore to Umbraco migration, her work with AI and MCP, her love of farming, and her 3 tips for getting started 💡 Get to know Asha 👉 umbra.co/4yiIV7L #Umbraco

Five days. That's how long you have left to claim a spot in this year's 24 Days In Umbraco calendar ⏳ Maybe you've had an idea in the back of your mind for a while now. The package that saved your project. The upgrade that taught you more than you expected. The meetup you started with three people and a pot of coffee. Those are exactly the stories the community loves to read in December 🎄 Applications close this Saturday, October 24 at 12:00 CEST ✍️ So if you've been thinking "maybe next year", consider this your friendly nudge to make it this year instead 😊 Send in your pitch here 👇 umbra.co/4iLYTmC #Umbraco

What's the one thing you figured out in Umbraco this year that you wish someone had told you sooner? 🤔 That's the kind of story 24 Days In Umbraco is made of. Every December, the community fills an advent calendar with articles by people who build, run, and love Umbraco. Technical deep dives, lessons from a tricky project, tips for running a meetup, thoughts on contributing to open source. If it matters to the Umbraco community, it belongs here. You don't need to be a seasoned writer or a core contributor. If you've learned something worth sharing, that's enough. Applications to write for this year's calendar are open now ✍️ Got an idea brewing? Apply before October 24 at 12:00 CET at umbra.co/4iLYTmC #Umbraco

"This was on my bucket list." 📋 Not something you expect to hear at a Partner Summit. 🇸🇪 But that's where our Swedish dream team, Tobias and Ludvig, ended the day: Punk Royale. (Google it.) Before dinner: twice as many partners as last year, and partners stealing the show with their Cloud and Commerce cases. 🍿 Next up: Chicago, 30 September–1 October. US, what's on your bucket list? 🦅 US not in the cards? More summits are still up for grabs. Links in the comments ⬇️

So, what’s new? 👀 At Codegarden in June, we announced the first full release of the Umbraco Search abstraction, and now, the default search provider, Examine, has landed in its final release. The full picture is now in place. With Umbraco.Cms.Search, you get to choose your search provider. Stick with Examine, or swap in something else entirely, without rewriting your search logic. The abstraction handles querying, filtering, faceting, and sorting; the provider is just a package you install and configure. There's plenty to dig into beyond that, from zero-downtime reindexing so search never goes dark during a rebuild, to a new backoffice dashboard for inspecting and rebuilding indexes, to deep extensibility points for tailoring exactly what gets indexed. There's even a semantic, AI-powered search through Umbraco.AI.Search for content by meaning rather than keywords. It’s open source and available for Umbraco 17 and 18, and the abstraction will land in core in Umbraco 19. Discover how it all works: umbraco.com/blog/umbraco-sea…

Aaron Sadler’s first-ever flight had a pretty special destination: Codegarden 2025 ✈️💙 It was his third attempt at making it to Codegarden, and this time he finally got there. Fitting for someone whose Umbraco journey has been shaped so much by the people he’s met along the way. Aaron first found the community through the old Umbraco Forum and Slack channels. Since then, he’s gone from asking questions to maintaining UmbNav, contributing to the core and documentation, helping run the Facebook group called Umbraco Web Developers, and supporting newer developers whenever he can 🙌 In this month’s uProfile, Aaron talks about giving back, his latest project UmbPanel, an unforgettable Codecabin, and the rare Ford Mondeo ST220 he takes to car shows 🚗 Get to know Aaron 👉 umbra.co/4hxAFeF

Umbraco is already a familiar name in many parts of the world. But there are also markets where we’re still growing, and that comes with a little chicken-and-egg conundrum 🐔🥚 Before choosing Umbraco, businesses in those markets want experienced Umbraco developers who can build kick-ass solutions. But developers want to see opportunities to work with Umbraco before they invest time in learning it. Sooo… who goes first? If we want Umbraco to grow in these markets, we need to build the ecosystem around it too. More people who know it. More developers who can build with it. More businesses that feel confident choosing it. And the classroom could be a good place to start building that ecosystem 🎓 Jonas Poulsen has shared his thoughts on why education could be an important piece of continuing to grow Umbraco in more parts of the world. Give it a read 👉 umbra.co/4rdrH9S

At this point, we’re pretty sure the Umbraco India Festival has taken over social media 🇮🇳 And we’re about to make it worse (sorry, not sorry!) 🙌 After seeing all the photos, stories, and very enthusiastic posts coming out of Kochi, we wanted to share a little of what the festival looked like from our side too. Kochi, thank you. Goa 2027, we’ll see you there ❤️ #Umbraco
