Protecting the health and safety of every Goan remains our priority. The FDA intensified enforcement in Thivim and Karaswada, Bardez, acting against repeat violations and unsafe food practices. A tiffin service supplying offices and construction sites was ordered to stop operations after repeat hygiene violations. Further action, including possible licence suspension, will follow. Acting on a complaint about metal fragments in chocolates, the FDA found defective, corroded moulds and misleading label declarations at a chocolate manufacturing unit. A total of 140 boxes of chocolates worth ₹40,000 were destroyed. We will continue to take firm action against violations that put public health at risk. Safe food and honest labelling are essential for every Goan.

Goa’s Stroke Programme has enabled over 113 patients with ischaemic stroke to receive life-saving clot-busting treatment since 2023. Recognise the signs, respond fast and call 112 immediately. Launched Goa’s Programme for Comprehensive Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) Care, advancing the Goa Model of Healthcare through early screening, weekly clinics at District Hospitals in Mapusa and Margao, and Sub-District Hospitals in Ponda and Chicalim. The programme will provide insulin, glucose monitoring supplies, education, counselling and regular follow-ups, strengthening our shift towards preventive healthcare, early diagnosis and continuous support. The home visits to patients requiring critical and palliative care in Navelim and Margao have translated into action within 24 hours, with all six assurances fulfilled. Essential support, including two Fowler beds, an oxygen concentrator, a mobile phone and required medicines, has been delivered. At PHC Navelim, post inspection, the Emergency Care Centre (ECC) is now set up, with a doctor and advanced paramedic available from tonight. The ambulance has begun operations, and patient visits to the ECC have commenced. Recruitment of a helper will follow shortly. Strengthening emergency and palliative care in Navelim. Visited PHC Navelim today and interacted with the staff, patients and their families. From tomorrow, a 24x7 Emergency Care Centre will be operational at the PHC, supported by additional staff nurses and a doctor. 4 new ambulances were launched today, 1 will be provided under the State Care initiative, 1 stationed at PHC Navelim, along with 1 dedicated ambulance each for Cavelossim village and Sanguem. For palliative care patients, we have also provided additional medicines, Fowler beds, oxygen concentrators and an additional physiotherapist.
