We, the Eritrean people, deeply appreciate President Isaias Afwerki’s decades of service & dedication to our nation. Since his youth, he has devoted his life to Eritrea’s interests, often putting the nation before himself.
His calmness, patience & strategic approach to politics are particularly important in these challenging times, when tensions with neighbouring #Ethiopia are rising. In such circumstances, wisdom, restraint & diplomacy are essential to preventing further conflict. A less restrained approach could have pushed the region toward dangerous escalation.

Public seminars for diaspora nationals in various countries
Nationals residing in Germany, the UK, Zambia and the US have held public seminars focusing on the objective situation in the homeland in relation to regional and global developments.
At the seminar held in Wuppertal, attended by nationals from the German cities of Düsseldorf, Kellen, Wuppertal, Bielefeld, Bonn, Krefeld and Dortmund, Mr. Teame Haile, head of Public and Community Affairs at the Eritrean Embassy in Germany, underlined that Eritrea’s history of resilience and perseverance attests to the strength and steadfastness of the Eritrean people.
Mr. Kibreab Tekeste, Eritrea’s Consul General in Frankfurt, said that nationals have a timely responsibility to demonstrate their readiness to foil external hostilities and aggression by consolidating their unity, as they have in the past, and relying on their own capacity.
Denouncing all forms of hostility directed against Eritrea’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, the participants expressed their resolve to stand firmly alongside their Government and Defense Forces and contribute to the successful implementation of national resilience programs.
In the same vein, at a seminar attended by nationals residing in London and its environs, Mr. Saleh Abdella, Chargé d’Affaires at the Eritrean Embassy in the UK and Ireland, Mr. Tewolde Yohannes, head of Public and Community Affairs, and Mr. Suleiman Hassan, head of Consular Affairs, gave briefings on the objective situation in the homeland as well as regional and global developments.
The participants, for their part, expressed their readiness to play their due role in national affairs.
Similarly, at a seminar in Lusaka, Zambia, Mr. Gebrehiwet Petros, chairman of the Eritrean Community, provided a briefing on the objective situation in the homeland, regional and global developments, and the timely responsibilities of nationals in national affairs.
The participants expressed their readiness to strengthen their organizational capacity and unity and play their due role in national affairs.
Likewise, nationals residing in Washington, DC, and Philadelphia held similar public seminars.
At the seminar in Washington, DC, Mr. Berhane Gebrehiwet, Chargé d’Affaires at the Eritrean Embassy, explained the causes of instability in neighboring countries and the wider region and called on nationals to enhance their awareness and strengthen their contributions.
At the seminar in Philadelphia, Ms. Hadnet Keleta, head of Public and Community Affairs, provided a similar briefing.
Reiterating their steadfast support for the Eritrean Government’s position, participants at both seminars expressed their resolve to direct their attention and capabilities towards defending their country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Whether Prosperity Party (PP) officials and their cadres accept it or not is completely irrelevant.
The 1993 Eritrean independence referendum was monitored and certified by the United Nations (UNOVER), where an overwhelming 99.8% of Eritreans voted "YES" for full sovereignty.
That referendum is the proud legacy of thousands of Eritrean martyrs who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Eritrean independence is settled history and an internationally recognized legal reality. No political narrative can rewrite international law or diminish the ultimate sacrifice of our martyrs. 🇪🇷

Over 60 Amhara Orthodox Christians—including children and the elderly—were massacred in Arsi, Oromia, with homes torched and churches targeted. When Abiy’s government enables or fails to halt the systematic slaughter of its own citizens, it loses every shred of sovereign legitimacy.
Ethiopia’s internal collapse is no longer theoretical; it is an active atrocity crisis. While innocent civilians are slaughtered in Arsi and rural corridors descend into mass graves, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed is provoking Eritrea, Egypt, entangling in Sudan, and violating Somalia’s sovereignty via Somaliland.
A state burning from within cannot be a stable regional anchor or Red Sea partner. While the US and EU hide behind diplomatic calls for "de-escalation," an ethnic and humanitarian catastrophe is accelerating in plain sight.
@SecRubio @StateDept @US_SrAdvisorAF This is not “tension.” We are staring at the next Rwanda.

ETHIOPIA ― Nearly 50% of Oromos are believed to be Muslims, yet Orthodox Christians continue to face targeted massacres, particularly in Arsi Zone, allegedly at the hands of Muslim extremists.
Jawar Mohammed, once a prominent opposition figure and now an ally of Abiy Ahmed, once made a chilling statement about his predominantly Muslim Oromo region, claiming that 99% of its population are Muslim and there, no one dares to speak out because we will chop their heads off with a machete.
That statement, if accurately quoted and understood in its original context, may offer insight into the conditions that have allowed recurring violence against Orthodox Christians to persist in parts of Oromia.

Ethiopia's hunger does not make Eritrea its pantry. What Eritrea owes Ethiopia is what one free people owes another: honesty, respect, and an open door for those who knock, never the keys for those who demand. At this point, Ethiopia even needs to earn partnership through respect for sovereignty and stop imposing illicit demands and aggression parades.

There is no basis for #Eritrea and Ethiopia to enter negotiations. If Ethiopia wants sea access, Eritrea’s ports #Massawa and #Aseb already function as free ports since 1991 for #Ethiopia and for any state to use them under international trade law. This policy has never changed, and it will not change.
