Zypherpunks have been building, and now we present Zcash skills, your agent's best buddy to build fast with Zcash.
Great work. Zcashskills will keep being actively maintained by the community, and to track the latest developments, join the Zypherpunk Discord!
Introducing zcashskills
Your AI agent might be wrong about @Zcash. It shouldn't have to guess.
zcashskills gives it all the context it needs. One prompt and you're set.

Zcash's Blossom upgrade (2019) halved block time from 150 to 75 seconds ⏱️
This reduced the 500-block Sprout to Sapling pool migration interval from 20.8 to 10.4 hours.
Network Upgrade 7 (November 5th) reduces block time again from 75 to 25 seconds & disables Sprout transactions.
Sprout ZEC should migrate to Sapling before activation.
Ironwood introduced quantum recoverable shielded notes to Zcash.
ZIP 2005 reserves 0x0A (decimal 10) as a pseudorandom function domain separator.
A small cryptographic detail in a much larger effort to future proof against possible quantum threats.

Crosslink is a proposed hybrid PoW/PoS upgrade for Zcash.
By standardizing staking bonds into incremental powers of 10, observers are prevented from easily inferring individual staking patterns, preserving privacy and maintaining accountability among finalizers.

🚨 Zebra 7.0.0 is out - NU7 comes to Mainnet.
All Mainnet operators MUST upgrade before height 3,543,405 (~Nov 5) to stay on the consensus chain. 6.4.x stops itself days before activation - don't wait.

The block will be mined using Zcash's Proof-of-Work algorithm - Equihash.
Miners use a series of collision-finding stages to construct valid solutions, securing the network through computational work.
With parameters n = 200 and k = 9, Equihash operates on 200-bit values divided into 10 segments of 20 bits each.

Zodl 3.17.2 is live on Android.
We've updated how Zodl verifies server connections in response to an industry-wide, third-party certificate issue.
We have no evidence of exploitation against Zcash light wallet servers. iOS is in app store review. Please update on Android 👇

NEW EPISODE - Zcash Names: ENS for Zcash
@ZcashNames founder James Joseph (@zcashme) joins @TrustlessState to break down how .zec usernames make shielded payments simpler without exposing your transaction history.
They dive into how ZNS compares to Ethereum's ENS, the technology behind private usernames, the remaining security tradeoffs, and whether the system could pass the Edward Snowden privacy test.

Big milestone for Shielded Labs: the activation height for NU7 is being set today! The upgrade includes our first major mainnet deployment: the Network Sustainability Mechanism (NSM).
Like Bitcoin, Zcash faces a long-term challenge: how to sustain network security as block rewards decline. The NSM helps address that while preserving the 21 million coin cap.
ZIP-235 removes 60% of transaction fees from circulation, allowing that ZEC to be reissued as future block rewards. ZIP-237 starts that recycling around February 2031.
At current fee levels, that’s only about 210 ZEC per year. This is a modest first step, but we’re optimistic about how new use cases for the NSM could evolve over time and contribute to Zcash’s long-term security.
