How do crypto hacks actually happen?
Crypto has suffered $27.6B in losses since 2011
DeFi and CeFi get hacked in somewhat different ways.
DeFi: smart-contract flaws, oracle manipulation, bridge exploits. Lots of incidents, smaller checks.
CeFi: leaked keys, compromised hot wallets, phished signers. Fewer incidents, much bigger checks.
To anyone who thinks DeFi is the safe one: Centralized platforms account for $17.7B (64%) of losses. DeFi, including bridges, is $9.9B (36%).
On October 29th, @Binance reported a security incident that seems to have been caused by a breach related to a Binance employee’s laptop. This incident did not affect Abra’s platform or products and it is business as usual.
Crypto-backed loans. As of 9am PT on October 30, loan requests are being processed in the ordinary course, subject to the applicable loan terms.
Fraud, impersonation and phishing attempts can increase after events of this kind. We strongly urge all users to remain vigilant and uphold cybersecurity best practices at all times.

Protect Account Credentials: Never share your passwords, two-factor authentication (2FA) credentials, or private keys with anyone. Abra support personnel will not ask for these details.
Strengthen Account Access: Ensure multi-factor authentication is enabled across all active accounts.
Scrutinize Communications: Exercise extreme caution with unsolicited direct messages, emergency asset-recovery links, or emails requesting urgent wallet verifications. If in doubt, contact Abra support directly.

I am not shocked. Most people are thinking about AGI backwards. This is not a zero sum game. The long game here is creating abundance out of scarcity.
If corporations start buying real enterprise token usage licenses at scale (think wall st, law firms, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, automotive, governments, etc) AI and related revenue (hardware and services) could quickly 1000x from here.
… and we haven’t even started with robotics or ASI yet.
I am shocked, absolutely shocked, that Anthropic ARR has likely gone vertical in October after they cut token prices.
Except the exact same thing happened for the entire AI market, which is why GPU rental prices have surged while token prices declined.
$100b plus in year-end ARR looks possible again.
