#RuralWomen are at the heart of Europe’s communities, but inequalities remain.
In 2023, 69.7% of rural women were employed vs 81% of men, an 11.3-point #gender gap.
On this #InternationalDayOfRuralWomen, we are giving rural women the floor.
🎓 #RuralWomen are also highly skilled: 38.4% of women aged 25-34 in rural areas had tertiary education, compared with 25.3% of rural men.
Behind the figures are women preserving knowledge, leading change, connecting generations and demanding a voice in decisions.
🗣️ #Women and rural stakeholders from 9 European countries contributed their stories and reflections to this campaign through the @EURuralPact Community Group on Women in Rural Areas, coordinated by AEIDL.
