Goer, Inc. , an Austin-based last-minute fitness and wellness marketplace, raised a $2 million pre-seed round led by ATHLON. Co-founded by Blake Beltram (CEO) and Ryan Clarke (COO), Goer turns unused capacity at gyms, boutique fitness studios and wellness businesses into discounted, bookable inventory without memberships or long-term commitments. FUN FACT: ATHLON is backing Goer, the new last minute fitness and wellness marketplace founded by Mindbody founder Blake Beltram and former professional athlete Ryan Clarke. Goer is raised a $2 million pre seed round as it launches its first US market in Austin. The thesis is simple: Uber monetized unused capacity in cars. Airbnb monetized unused capacity in homes. Goer is building the marketplace for unused capacity across fitness and wellness. An estimated 62% of class based fitness inventory goes unused, representing approximately $200 billion of unused capacity globally. Goer enables gyms, studios and wellness operators to dynamically release that inventory at discounted prices while retaining control over pricing, inventory and their customer experience. For ATHLON, the investment represents exactly the type of opportunity the firm was built to pursue: an experienced founder with demonstrated category creation, a massive consumer market, a clear structural inefficiency and the potential to create a platform significantly larger than the product initially suggests.
