AMO is pleased to share an updated modelling tool, developed by Oxford Economics, to help municipalities estimate the impact of tariffs on capital construction project costs, reflecting tariff costs as of late August 2026. Developed with input from municipal public works leaders and treasurers, the tool can help municipalities: • Inform council decisions on capital projects. • Understand and explain price fluctuations. • Support procurement negotiations with vendors. On behalf of AMO, I extend my deepest condolences to Mac Bain’s family, friends and colleagues. Mac dedicated decades of his life to municipal government, serving the City of North Bay and advocating for municipalities across Northern Ontario and the province. Through his leadership at FONOM and his work with AMO, Mac was a solid voice for municipal interests and the communities they serve. He will be remembered for his dedication to public service and his lasting contributions to municipal government in Ontario. - AMO President Riley Brockington
