Here's a little something on this "Throwback Thursday." This was produced early in my days on the State Assembly and still reflects "A Day in the Life" of an Assemblymember. It has truly been an honor to serve the people of the 44th & 42nd Districts! #CALeg

Here's a throwback to 2024 and a good reminder to register now for this year's @TheFive07 Turkey Day Dash at California Lutheran University on Thanksgiving morning. #Thanksgiving2026
I joined family, friends and thousands of my neighbors at the Turkey Day Dash sponsored by @TheFive07 at @CalLutheranNews . Always happy to support the great local nonprofits before gathering around the dinner table. 🏃♀️🍗🍗
Proud to have brought back $1 million in State funding for the Simi Valley Family YMCA to help support the costs of their long-awaited capital expansion project! This investment will help strengthen the YMCA’s ability to serve families, support our youth, and provide vital programs for the community. Investing in our community’s future is always a priority!
Recently, the Assembly Privacy Committee held an outcomes review hearing on Senator Wiener's landmark AI legislation SB 53. The hearing showed clearly that the risks posed by advanced frontier AI models are evolving far beyond levels many of us could have ever predicted. The potential for these models to exploit cybersecurity vulnerabilities and evade their own guardrails make clear that the policies we have put into place must be updated.
It is crucial for California to take these risks seriously and ensure that we update our safeguards as technology advances. I thank @CASpeakerRivas, Chair @BauerKahan, Senator @Scott_Wiener, and all the participating panelists for their robust conversation on how we can best protect a future for all Californians.

Rolling back the methane rule for low-output wells would increase emissions of air pollutants that contribute to climate change, form smog, and cause cancer, all to distract from the fact that this ill-advised war with Iran is driving up prices at the pump and straining the household budgets of working families across the country.

Congratulations to @AsmGailPellerin and all the coauthors of #AB1267 for advancing this important legislation to end forced child marriage. Special thanks to @FraidyReiss, a survivor who shared her story in "Unchained at Last" and has spent years courageously fighting to protect others from this practice. Her advocacy is helping turn painful experiences into meaningful change and a safer future for young people. #EndChildMarriage
Traveled to UC Irvine to once again celebrate California’s $38.2 million dollar investment in the UC Climate Change Research & Policy Institute! Research across four UC campuses, @UCLA, @UCIrvine, @UCSB, and @ucdavis, will help ensure our policy decisions are guided by sound science and evidence. Proud to support science-driven solutions that address some of the most pressing challenges of our time and help build a more sustainable future for California! #ClimatePolicy
Pleased to present a $38.2 million check to the @UofCalifornia last week on the @UCLA campus with my colleagues, Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris and Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel. This check represents California’s investment to establish the UC Climate Change Research and Policy Institute. This investment will bring together research and policy expertise to strengthen our understanding of climate change and ensure future policy decisions are informed by sound science, data, and evidence. A major step toward a more sustainable future for California!
@AsmCottie @AsmJesseGabriel
Everyone should have a voice in the policy decisions that affect their lives, not just those who have the resources to make their voice heard. #AB2103 codifies the Engaged California program into state law, ensuring we give more opportunities for Californians to share their experiences and shape public policy. TY to Harvard’s Ash Center for highlighting this important step towards better public participation.

Grateful to join my fellow state legislators at the recent L.A. Equality Awards! Equality requires more than words, it takes action, commitment, and the courage to stand up for one another. While we’ve made progress, there is still work to do to ensure dignity, fairness, and equal rights for all.
It was a pleasure to participate in the Hidden Hills Fiesta Parade and celebrate this wonderful community’s history, equestrian traditions, and hometown spirit. The city, incorporated on October 19, 1961, celebrated its 65th birthday with lots of hometown spirit and community pride. #HiddenHills
Congratulations to @AdelanteConejo on the opening of its new Community Food Recovery Hub! Made possible through a @CityofTO grant funded by CalRecycle, this investment expands the capacity to recover, collect, store, and distribute food to individuals and families in need.
By keeping good food out of landfills and getting it to people who need it most, Adelante Conejo is strengthening our community, reducing food waste, and advancing a more sustainable future. Thank you to everyone who helped make this important initiative a reality! #AD42

I recently spent a morning on a ride-along in Ojai with Ventura County Sheriff’s Sergeant Anderson, and it was a terrific opportunity to learn more about the community and the unique needs of the area.
What stood out most was the close relationship between the deputies and the people they serve. The level of mutual respect, communication, and partnership was impressive and a great reminder that effective public safety starts with strong community relationships.
Thank you to Sergeant Anderson and the @VENTURASHERIFF for the opportunity and for the work you do every day to keep our communities safe!
