Allyship is not about saving people. It’s about using your power, platform, and privilege to dismantle systems of oppression and hate. Also PLEASE spend less time debating and more time reflecting, unlearning, learning, and actioning 🙏🏽♥️

🗣🗣Critical and constructive feedback is a part of the allyship journey. If you’re not open to receiving it without becoming defensive and pointing to all of the things that you HAVE done, you’re not ready. Next time ask how you can improve. Ego has no place here.

I think it’s important for us as allies to start educating ourselves without the expectation of having to be spoon-fed this information while our black friends grieve, so here’s a thread for allyship learning that I’ve found in several FB groups and Twitter 👇
Out of respect and empathy for our merchants and partners, we decided to put primary research on hold. Ariel and I chatted with Gene about the decision, what it means for the research team and how we’re pivoting to continue to support the company in making great decisions.

Good reminder for anyone who thinks that product analytics are 'what people do' and more valuable than 'what people say' in qual research.
It is really 'what people do given the current state of our product design' and not 'what they'd do if they could what they wanted'
“Your analytics are skewed. They’re biased towards visitors who’ll tolerate the experience you’re delivering” @AndyDavies
Absolutely spot on.
