This morning Pte Katie Brazier presented a special poppy to Ivy, the Royal British Legion’s youngest poppy seller.
Thank you Ivy, and all those supporting the Poppy Appeal!
By wearing a poppy you support veterans and remember those who died serving their country.

Aberfan, 21 October 1966, it was the morning a colliery spoil tip collapsed onto a Welsh mining village and killed 144 people, 116 of them children.
Sixty years on, Wales falls silent each year on this date, and the memorial garden now stands on the school grounds.

Childhood is a time of wonder, curiosity and discovery.
Today, The Princess of Wales has commissioned @Earlychildhood to take forward new work examining how nature can support the healthy development of babies and young children, with a new programme set to launch next year.
Supported by founding partner The Duchy of Cornwall, the work will explore how nature, creativity and relationships can help nurture the social and emotional skills that underpin lifelong health and wellbeing. 🌳

Visiting St Mary’s Church, Guru Nanak Gurdwara and Luton Central Mosque, the walk celebrated friendship, understanding and community across different faiths and beliefs.

National Cadets Week 2026: As their year of service draws to a close, HM Lord-Lieutenant of Bedfordshire wishes to extend her heartfelt thanks to her Lord-Lieutenant Cadets (2025–2026).
"It has been a real pleasure to have them join me at events throughout Bedfordshire. They have carried out their responsibilities with dedication, courtesy, maturity and enthusiasm, and I have been deeply grateful for the support they have given during their appointments.
Each cadet has been a credit to their unit and an outstanding ambassador for young people across our county, showing the positive difference young people make in Bedfordshire.
I hope their time as Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets has brought them memorable experiences, valuable opportunities and many happy recollections.
Thank you all for your service. I wish every one of you success and happiness in the years ahead."
