The proposed €500 annual increase, equivalent to just €9.60 per week, falls far short of the real cost of living with Cystic Fibrosis and other disabilities, which research estimates at between €8,700 and €12,300 per year.
Cystic Fibrosis Ireland is calling for a meaningful Cost of Disability payment that reflects these realities and supports people with disabilities to live with dignity, independence and financial security.
