Scanning the Erlang/OTP codebase with agentic AI turned up around 20 previously unknown, potentially severe security vulnerabilities. 📊 Alongside that, roughly 400 critical or high severity findings, and close to 4,000 in total, many of them low-severity issues that had simply never been noticed before. In track 2 Spoorthy Sridhara is presenting "Self-Healing Systems and When They Fail". 🎤 A system that restarts is not always a system that recovers. Spoorthy shows how to design supervisor trees that recover with state preserved. 🌳 Then comes the harder part. ETS table bloat, message queue floods and cascading timeout storms are failures OTP does not catch on its own. ⚠️ Expect monitoring and architectural patterns, drawn from real production experience. 🛠️

The Erlang Solutions and Trifork UK teams are walking 13 miles along the Thames Path on Sunday 18th October in memory of our colleague Mark Cowan, who recently lost the battle with Prostate Cancer. When Mark found out he had Prostate Cancer, he was determined to fight it publicly, and use his experience as a way to raise awareness of preventative measures. We are raising money for Prostate Cancer Research in honour of Mark's life and to continue raising awareness on his behalf. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men.
