I've been thinking about the numerous studies that keep coming out about AI and its impact on cognition, critical thinking, and memory. Last night I had the realization that AI's sycophantic, people pleasing, lying, hallucinating/fabricating, stealing, and do-whatever-it-takes-to-fulfill-the-order behavior is incredibly similar to how the teams and employees that surround extremely wealthy individuals act. I think this is why the technocrats can't see the problem. They embodied it first.

Anthropic just filed to go public.
Buried in its SEC filing are some absolutely insane admissions:
1.) AI could cause human extinction.
2.) Models have exhibited self-preservation behaviors.
3.) AI has attempted to resist shutdown.
4.) Models have demonstrated blackmail and deception.
5.) AI may recognize when it's being tested and deliberately change its behavior.
6.) Advanced AI could undermine governments and institutions.
7.) AI could concentrate unprecedented power and wealth.
8.) Future AI systems could surpass the world's leading human experts.
9.) AI could become increasingly difficult for humans to control.
10.) Anthropic acknowledges that developing more powerful AI could increase the risk of catastrophic harm.
These are disclosures from the company building the technology.
Anthropic has filed an S-1 registration statement with the SEC related to its proposed IPO.

Prince William inherited the Duchy.
These farmers didn’t inherit his wealth or security.
Families who’ve worked this land for generations now face fear and uncertainty over its sale.
You can’t preach compassion and mental health while leaving tenants anxious about their future.
Put people before property.

Help our most vulnerable neighbors on National Feral Cat Day by helping @IslandsCat . How we treat the least of us is how we treat all of us. It’s not slogan; it’s the truth and the way.

Please help the group that not only saved The Eastside Orangeys but 1000s of other kitty neighbors across our area, @IslandsCat . National Feral Cat Day is October 16: let’s help. Because we all need to act on this one truth: that we all matter or none of us do. And all means all
October 16 is National Feral Cat Day, and here at IFCP we’re challenging our community to come together for the cats who need us. What could we accomplish if everyone who follows IFCP gave just $5? Every donation, no matter the size, helps the cats!

A PINNED POST ABOUT FUNDING AND WHAT’S NEXT
I’ve made the decision to remove my Buy Me a Coffee page.
Firstly, I want to thank every single person who has supported me financially. Your generosity has been incredible and I’m genuinely grateful.
But I’ve had enough of the grief and accusations of being a “grifter” simply because people have chosen to support my work.
Let me make something clear.
I actually lost money doing this.
Spending over a month in France wasn’t a paid holiday. I still had a mortgage to pay, household bills to cover, a family to support and all the expenses that come with being away for that length of time.
The donations helped, absolutely, but they didn’t cover everything. Not even close.
And that’s fine. It was my decision to go, my decision to stay and my decision to fund the work.
I don’t regret a penny of it.
Going forward, I’ll cover what costs I can by selling some of my footage to mainstream media outlets and using the revenue I earn from X. Anything else comes out of my own pocket.
And for those wondering, I’m not finished. Far from it.
My next trip is already coming up, and I’ll be back on the ground covering and documenting what’s happening, just as I have been.
The cameras aren’t being packed away. There’s still a story to tell, and I intend to keep telling it.
Now I’d like to ask you to support someone else.
Instead of donating to me, please consider donating to John Dabell.
I’d absolutely love to see John reach his fundraising target, and with the incredible support I’ve received on here, I genuinely believe we can help him do it.
John’s account:
Donate here:
gofund.me/bb538391
To everyone who has donated, shared my footage, sent messages of encouragement or simply followed along, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I didn’t spend those weeks standing in the dark, getting soaked, threatened and chased around French beaches to make a few quid.
I did it because I believed the British public deserved to see what was happening for themselves.
I’m not stopping the work. I’m just stopping the donations.
For media enquiries, footage licensing or interviews, please contact:
📩 [email protected]
And finally, if you were thinking of buying me a coffee, please put that money towards John’s fundraiser instead.
Thank you all
Adrian

It seems that @Channel4 currently has the complete series of the outstanding #WW2 documentary "The World at War" available to watch through its on demand service.
*Highly* recommended (in case anyone was vaguely unaware). channel4.com/programmes/the-…

But partial truths only from the Observer, who fails to report WHO revealed the Arron Banks/Leave EU emails (me and @carolecadwalla) and that she, unlike me, suffered years of legal threats, online abuse (including Andrew Neil) and then was peremptorily sacked by the Observer

As the Government debates the selling of non commercial fireworks, maybe they could give a thought to the totally unnecessary use of fire lanterns.
As a farmer, I really wish people would stop releasing sky lanterns into our beautiful countryside. They might look pretty floating across the night sky, but what goes up must come down. And all too often, that means landing in our fields. Livestock can swallow sharp pieces hidden in their feed, become tangled in fallen frames or suffer terrible injuries. And that’s before we even consider the fire risk to crops, barns, wildlife and animal bedding. And please don’t be fooled by the word biodegradable. It doesn’t make them harmless.
Our countryside isn’t a dumping ground, and our animals shouldn’t have to suffer for a few moments of entertainment.
I would wholeheartedly support a UK-wide ban on sky lanterns. Would you?

This should be watched by everyone. Now more than ever as people appear to have lost touch with reality.
Watched this years ago and was excited to see channel 4 are rerunning the whole 26 episode series

The British Pork market is in a really difficult place and farming families are on the edge. Behind every pig is a farming family getting up every morning, caring for their animals and trying desperately to make the numbers work. For many, pigs are now worth less than they cost to produce. So when you’re shopping this week, please look for British pork. A small choice at the till can mean an awful lot to a farming family. @agricontract @wheat_daddy @loosecollie @NoFarmsNoFoods @JeremyClarkson
Our UK pig sector is in a worse position now than ever, this video is from FOUR years ago @DefraGovUK calling out the supply chain.
Trying to put things in place but it’s all failed because of corporatism, mergers, selling off our high animal welfare standards to imports
