A disaster can change a family’s life in a matter of minutes. Finding a safe place to stay shouldn’t become another crisis. EmergencyRV exists to help provide a safe, temporary place to stay while families navigate everything that comes after a disaster.
Our partnerships with the @FLSERT and the Florida State Emergency Response Teams have been an important part of making that possible during our response to Hurricane #Isaias in Florida.
The names, places and disasters may change. The mission doesn’t: when families need a safe place to stay, we show up.
⚠️ 10/27: EAST COAST FLOODING UPDATE ⚠️
Water levels have peaked in NE FL & are peaking in East Central & SE Florida today with high tide.
The tidal St. Johns River is expected to remain in moderate to minor flood stage through this week, with moderate flooding continuing at Astor.
Turn around, don’t drown (or damage your car)!
🚗 Coastal flooding isn’t just water on the road — saltwater can damage your vehicle.
🚫 Never drive through flooded roads or around barricades.
Stay safe & monitor forecasts from local @NWS.
Remember the 3 C’s of disaster giving:

Since October 12, DCF teams have been on the ground in Century, Milton, and Crestview supporting Floridians impacted by Hurricane Isaias.
Through our Distribution Sites we have provided essential supplies, meals and other resources to over 15,000 individuals as they continue to recover from the storm.
These efforts would not have been possible without the support of our partners, including @FLSERT, Garner Environmental Services, @SunHealthFL, @FarmShareFL, and the many other nonprofit organizations, businesses and state agencies working alongside us.
Thank you for helping us reach families in need and supporting communities across Northwest Florida as they recover.

‼️ Don’t let price gouging add to the cost of recovering from Hurricane #Isaias.
Be cautious of:
⚠️ Unusually high prices
⚠️ Suspicious offers
⚠️ Pressure to pay upfront
⚠️ Promises that sound too good to be true
Know what you’re paying for & question prices that seem unusually high for essential goods or services.

⚠️ High tides increase risk of flooding & saltwater damage to vehicles!
Saltwater flooding can damage vehicles & create fire risks for electric vehicles (EVs). 🚗
▪️ Move vehicles to higher ground.
▪️ Never drive through floodwaters.
▪️ Don’t start or charge saltwater-exposed EVs until professionally inspected.
‼️ Act now to stay safe & protect your property!

⚠️ 10/26: Heavy rain could cause flash flooding in low-lying areas across Southeast Florida, worsening ongoing coastal flooding from rising tides.
Protect yourself & your vehicle!
🚫 Never drive through floodwaters.
🚧 Turn around if a road is flooded or barricaded.
📱 Follow your local @NWS office
Stay alert & be ready to adjust your plans if flooding develops.
📋 @FLSERT continues coordinating with federal partners to assess the impact of Hurricane #Isaias.
🏠 3,000+ homes impacted
🏚️ Nearly 800 homes with major damage or destroyed
These findings help demonstrate the extent of the damage as federal partners review Florida’s request for a Presidential Major Disaster Declaration.
Florida remains focused on securing federal assistance to help affected communities recover & rebuild. 💪

⚠️ 10/26: High tides continue to increase risk of flooding along FL’s East Coast, the FL Keys & the tidal St. Johns River.
Low-lying communities may become isolated & roads may become impassable, especially during hours of high tide. 🌊
‼️ Move vehicles & valuables to higher ground before water rises & NEVER drive through floodwaters!
