Headway House clients recently enjoyed a memory session delivered by volunteer Amirah, with a game of Hangman! The session was a great opportunity to exercise their brains, practise memory and thinking skills, and enjoy some friendly competition.
Sutton House clients took time to mark Remembrance by taking part in a special art therapy session, painting beautiful poppies to display around the hub.
A lovely way for everyone to come together, reflect and remember.
Sutton House clients took park in a session exploring seasonal burnout and how the colder, darker months can affect our physical and mental wellbeing.
Remember, it's okay to slow down, take a break and give yourself a little extra care during the colder months.
Our Community Outreach client, Teresa, loves playing word games and she has come out victorious several times recently as she's pitched her wits against her support worker.
Teresa is Scabble Champion and Top Banana in her new game Bananagrams!
Great fun and a proper challenge.
Before sustaining a brain injury, CO client Dave loved going to the gym. With the support and encouragement of his support worker, Dave has been able to get back into the gym and rediscover something he really enjoys.
Keep up the fantastic work Dave!
It takes an average of two years for someone to realise they’re an unpaid carer. That’s two years without knowing what support is available.
Ahead of #CarersRightsDay on 19 November, let’s help people recognise their caring role sooner.

Sutton House clients have been learning about calcium and why it is important for keeping our bones strong and healthy. The session began with a short video exploring the bones in the human skeleton, then it was time to put that knowledge into practice!
Leighton House clients have made a delicious potato salad using potatoes they grew and recently harvested themselves! It is fantastic to see our clients taking their gardening skills into the kitchen, learning new skills, following steps, and working together.
Yay! We had another winner at the weekend in the Birmingham Community Lottery.
They won and so did we, especially as they donated their winnings straight back to us. Have a go... there are great prizes to be won!

Meet little Frank, our four-legged friend!
Frank belongs to one of our clients who is currently in hospital. While his owner is receiving care, Frank has been staying with his support worker, where he's certainly making himself at home. 🏠🐾

Clients learnt about some of the chemicals in our brains that influence how we feel, think and respond to everyday life. Understanding how these chemicals work can help us recognise the factors that influence our emotions and discover positive ways to support our mental health.
We would like to give a special shout-out to Headway House client Jenny, who creates beautiful handmade jewellery to sell at the hub. Jenny regularly updates the jewellery stand with new designs, and her latest collection has a fun Halloween theme! 🎃👻
