In the high seismic zone of #Kishtwar, inaugurated the new Seismological Observatory. The new Earthquake related observatory is equipped with state-of-the-art digital seismic equipment and will transmit data in real time to the 24x7 Earthquake Monitoring Centre of the National Centre for Seismology in New Delhi. It was only after the @narendramodi government took over in 2014 that the 'India Meteorology Department' (IMD) strengthened the weather monitoring network in the region from not a single Doppler Weather Radar in 2014 to 4 installed in last 12 years and 4 more being installed now making it total 8; Automatic Weather Stations from 3 to 12 out of which 4 for Kishtwar and 2 each for Doda and Ramban. A High Altitude Cloud Physics Laboratory has been installed at a height at Nathatop, near Patnitop. The rainfall monitoring network has also been expanded, with the number of Rain Gauge Stations increasing from nine to 15 across the five districts of the Udhampur parliamentary constituency. The expansion of weather monitoring infrastructure has also strengthened the region's disaster preparedness in an area that is vulnerable to earthquakes, landslides and other weather-related challenges. The result is that the recent Machhail Yatra in district Kishtwar could be conducted smoothly with real time early warning systems, ensuring that a catastrophe like the Chasoti cloud burst of last year does not happen again.

Inaugurated the "Seismological Observatory, Kishtwar, Jammu & Kashmir", established by the National Centre for Seismology, Ministry of Earth Sciences, at the District Employment & Counselling Centre (DE&CC), alongside Leader of Opposition and MLA, J&K, Shri Sunil Sharma Ji, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Dr. Srinivasa Kumar, MLA, Kishtwar Assembly Constituency, Smt. Shagun Parihar Ji, Director, National Centre for Seismology (NCS), Dr. G. Suresh, DC Sh Pankaj Sharma, SSP Sh. Sunny Gupta, senior officials and other dignitaries. Located in the seismically active Himalayan region, the observatory will strengthen earthquake monitoring, seismic research and disaster preparedness, contributing to improved understanding of seismic activity and enhanced regional resilience. #MoES @Sunil_SharmaBJP @ShagunParihar_

My Address at the  72nd Annual General Body Meeting of 'Indian Institute of Public Administration' #IIPA New Delhi. Key Takeaways: "Some of the recent reforms in IIPA include reorientation of the academic curriculum suited to the contemporary requirements of governance... accordingly the APPPA and internship courses have been redone. Faculty, including the visiting faculty, is sought to be expanded to include courses in new technologies like AI etc as well as essential skills like communication etc. Online preparatory courses for Civil Services Examination being strengthened to facilitate aspirants across sections of society. Working in synergy with LBSNAA Mussoorie, the Capacity Building Commission and other like-minded institutions, curated courses are now being developed for different segments including Local Body representatives, Armed Security personnel, and even the private sector. For the flavour of harmonious learning and exposure, Membership of IIPA, though highly selective, has been opened to all age groups, unlike in the past when it was open only to seniors. In keeping with PM Sh @narendramodi's integrative approach, IIPA’s nationwide outreach has been increased beyond the confines of Delhi NCR, with initiation of regional conferences and meetings for inclusive Capacity Building in Governance"
