KMJ NOW

Really appreciate this on Apple Podcasts. And all of us who work on the program (yours truly, and elite producers Josh Weakley and @NeighborGabe) are grateful for how well received #TheCGP on Fridays has been. THANK YOU!

Quite a weekend incoming… No. 1 Miami at No. 4 Notre Dame No. 7 BYU at No. 3 Utah No. 2 Georgia at No. 12 Ole Miss No. 8 Kentucky at No. 16 Tennessee No. 9 Alabama at No. 15 LSU No. 10 Texas at No. 19 Missouri Whatever the first CFP poll turns out to be, these games will, or may, shake things up.

Hard to figure Riley and USC. Sometimes they seem a good fit, other times not so much. And with the team across town having a fantastic season under a first-year very likable coach, pressure manifests in many ways.

So I get a message very late last night - younger daughter Cadence was at a Halloween party, a boy “was limp and not breathing and no one was calling 911 so I did.” She did CPR on him, got him breathing and the ambulance arrived. Thankfully he’s gonna be ok. Beyond proud of Cadence. She’s always been someone with remarkable awareness and composure. Helping to save someone’s life at 19 is quite a thing.

Final Oregon State 22 Fresno State 38 Beavers came in on a roll knowing a CFP playoff berth was still in play for them. Then the game started, and the Dogs just stuck it to them. Best game, both sides of the ball, the Dogs have played all year. Admittedly, I did not see this kind of performance coming from Fresno State as they move to 5-3 (2-2). Next up, a trip to Logan and Utah State.

Every year I love “reporting” on the first Trick or Treaters of the night. Moments ago I had… A penguin, a caterpillar, a robot with flashing lights, a moose and a princess! All equally adorable!

Best of the Week | The Christopher Gabriel Program #TheCGP omny.fm/shows/christopher-ga…

I’ve heard from Bulldogs fans literally for weeks regarding what will make this season successful and… your thoughts on Matt Entz. So, I addressed both in Friday‘s Open. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…

Watching the guys on ABC raving on and on about Miami… that’s a very good football team, no doubt. But when I hear “they are unquestionably the number one team in the country,” well, are they? I’m curious what they’re basing it on beyond being undefeated. If they take out Notre Dame next week, then the argument has weight.

Great conversation on the Friday CGP with the Voice of @BeaverFootball Mike Parker. The history of Beavers-Bulldogs, Reser Stadium, VCS and how Oregon State head coach JaMarcus Shephard changed the culture and expectations of the program. omny.fm/shows/christopher-ga…
