Digital money fundamentally differs from paper money: Money was often a physical piece of paper or object you can "own". But you can't "own" bits in a bank's database. So in digital bookkeeping and electronic payments, money is "credit in motion" through a network of trust lines.
It's funny that we often say "my money is in the bank", when really what we mean is "the bank owes me money". Likewise, we often say we "send money" even if a payment is fully digital, an adjustment of what my banks owes me, what your bank owes you, and what banks owe each other.

Changed the term "Network Ledger Technology" to "Network Money" on ledgerloops.com. Like fiat, commodity and representative money, Network Money enables trade by flowing in the opposite direction, but unlike the other types, it cannot be hoarded or used for speculation.

LedgerLoops, @lightning and @interledger all use hashlocks for multi-hop transactions. Instead of the single global ledger DLT uses! We could call this new trend "Network Ledger Technology"? Network nodes only store local hops, but summing those up would give the global ledger.
