Upgrade your frostsnap app. And upgrade the firmware on your devices when you can.
Frostsnap v0.4.0 is out ❄ It fixes two security issues. We know of no user funds lost to either, and each has a published report. Update your app and device firmware. Also: firmware downgrade protection and dozens more fixes. frostsnap.com/security/updat…

Congratulations to BlackIce: Distributed Frost Silent Payments for taking home 1st place in our privacy focused hackathon at @btcplusplus in South Korea today 🏆 "Silent Payments has suffered from the lack of multisig & hardware wallet support. We built payments using FROST / Frostsnap hardware that enable distributed signing coordinated using Marmot." btcpp.dev/seoul/hackathon/pr…

We published a paper (eprint.iacr.org/2026/2626) about exact definitions of bit-security. We noticed that depending on how you account the adversary's work we have slightly (but noticeable) different security of Hash-based schemes. Be careful with your Lean-proofs and statements :)

Following Ledger's supply chain infiltration with malicious implants, we've received many questions. Our supply chain: every Frostsnap is assembled and tested in our own factory, with our own hands. Orders purchased in our store are held and packed by us, with no third-party warehouse or outsourced fulfillment. The sealed package goes straight from us to the shipping carrier, who then takes it to your door. Distribution: every extra hand in the supply chain can add risk and educational challenges. But we have seen how buying internationally has real costs associated (shipping, duties, convenience), so we're taking great care with planning wider distribution. We'll share more on official distributors soon. The attack itself: there's no sugar coating it. Supply chain implants are incredibly difficult to defend against with system design and cryptography, and we believe no product today fully addresses this threat. Tamper resistant systems and other device properties are hard to reason about, and evil implant technology has years of improvement ahead of it. With Frostsnap, one compromised device can't spend your funds. An attacker needs enough devices to meet your threshold. That raises the bar a lot, but it doesn't help if a whole batch is compromised before it reaches you. While we work on increasing verifiability, don't lose sight of the big picture: bitcoin is still most often lost to complexity, a lack of redundancy, stolen by low hanging scams, or lost without an inheritance plan. Our goal has not changed: a hardware wallet that isn't a trusted third party. We've been ahead of the curve on not trusting a single device to generate its own entropy, and we're excited to pioneer defenses against supply chain implant threat.

I found a SIM implant in my friend's @Ledger Flex. He set it up but never used it, so no funds were lost. He bought it from @cryptobilis at their May 22 2026 Global Pizza Party, Raintree Club Kuala Lumpur. nRF9151 LTE module, eSIM module, v1.1 UFL antenna cc @MagicalTux
Can anyone who bought Ledgers from @cryptobilis confirm (either by replying here or DMing) that their wallets got drained, disassembled their devices and found a SIM implant in it? It seems like the only victims affected are those who bought from shady Lazada merchants, not CB

😂🤣 SHORT ETHEREUM (TICKER: $ETH) INTO THE FLOOR. IT'S OVER.
Replying to @rrwilliams
In this conversation, ETH refers to the Exponential Time Hypothesis, not Ethereum (ethereum:native ). No meaningful practical impact on Ethereum’s cryptography.

Bad: All these mutation tests were not getting cleared each time and ended up using more than 1tb of space in /target/debug for one project.
Good: claude loves mutation testing now which is great. Bad: A mutation test removed a guard which narrows processes to kill and killed very process on my machine.

Announcing LayerTree: a new tree-based scaling solution for Bitcoin that permits O(1), independent of the number of users in the system: teapawt.org/lightning/status/21108… A single UTXO can hold the balance of millions of users as an off-chain Merkle-sum tree. Transaction introspection techniques permit batched exit from the system in a single transaction w/o any pre-signing: layertree.tech
Introducing LayerTree, a non-custodial scaling solution on bitcoin that connects to Lightning. Using covenants, one UXTO can be shared by a million users. Any user can leave at any time in a single transaction. Users don't need to be online to receive. Funds never time out. LayerTree is the next step in bringing bitcoin to billions. It's remarkable that the Ledger supply chain infiltration was able to grow to the scale it did given that we were aware of these implants ~6 months ago (thanks @joegrand!)

WARNING: do not leave your tamper evident bags unattended near @sakak_musdom. While waiting for an uber at the frostsnap factory I gave him a mk3 in its original bag as a parting gift. Before the uber had arrived he had completely disrespected its bag. Don't be like him. Make sure to leave evidence when you tamper with hardware wallet packaging. It's part of the ToC.

If you watch until the end you'll see the blue strip is back. If you look closely you'll see that the new blue strip is missing a watermark. Keep in mind this was cooked up in literally <5 mins while waiting for uber. If you put in any kind of effort you have no chance at noticing the difference.

The simplest way to solve the ledger implant problem: When displaying 24 word backup do not show all 24 on the device. Show 12 on the device screen and send 12 encrypted to the companion app which shows them on the screen. Record them on the same card. Easy :^)

IIRC google’s result implies can break your keys in mempool with non-noisy superconducting circuits in ~5mins so hashing doesn’t protect you. Now the next pleb slop should be that you should have a 10-of-10 multisig even with a single seed to give you 50mins of protection.
